Hence we very often use <strong>ora<\/strong> instead of <strong>tempo<\/strong> when we&#8217;re talking about the time. Look at the difference between these two example:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><strong>che ora \u00e8?<\/strong> = what time is it?<br \/>\n<strong>che tempo fa?<\/strong> = what is the weather like?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\">Here are some more important examples in which <strong>ora<\/strong> is used instead of <strong>tempo<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"justify\"><strong>\u00e8 ora di andare<\/strong> = it\u2019s time to go<br \/>\n<strong>era ora che tu finissi quel lavoro!<\/strong> = it was about time that you finished that job!<br \/>\n<strong>ora solare<\/strong> = winter time <em>(relating to the changing of the clock by one hour between wintertime and summertime)<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>ora legale<\/strong> = summer time<em> (as above)<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>ora di pranzo<\/strong> = lunch time<br \/>\n<strong>ora di cena<\/strong> = dinner time<br \/>\n<strong>ore dei pasti<\/strong> = mealtimes<br \/>\n<strong>alla stessa ora<\/strong> or <strong>all\u2019ora solita<\/strong> = at the same time\/at the usual time<br \/>\n<strong>a quest\u2019ora<\/strong> = at\/by this time e.g.<strong> se fossimo andati a piedi a quest\u2019ora saremmo gi\u00e0 arrivati<\/strong> = if we&#8217;d gone by foot we would have got there by this time, <strong>ci vediamo domani a quest&#8217;ora<\/strong> = I&#8217;ll see you tomorrow at this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a
