We normally use <strong>tu<\/strong> with family, friends, and children. <strong>Lei<\/strong> is used with people we don\u2019t know, and professionals, such as doctors, lawyers, the police etc. Have a look at the following examples in which the informal is highlighted in <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">red<\/span> and the formal in <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">blue<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>Ciao! Come <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">stai<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">?<\/span> <\/strong>= Hi! How are you?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong>Buongiorno come <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">sta<\/span>?<\/strong> = Good day, how are you?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Ti<\/span> \u00e8 piaciuto il film?
