Tuscan Region forced to close vital health and emergency services if no funds generated<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Dopo mesi di sofferti dibattiti \u00e8 stato deciso di vendere alcuni dei principali monumenti storici. Il primo ad essere messo all\u2019asta sar\u00e0 la famosa Torre Pendente di Pisa. Un\u2019offerta molto attraente \u00e8 venuta da una confederazione di industriali cinesi, che hanno presentato un progetto per trasformare la storica Piazza dei Miracoli in un parco a tema interattivo.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

After months of debate it\u2019s been decided to sell off some key historic monuments. The first of these to go to auction will be the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. A very attractive offer has come from a conglomerate of Chinese industrialists, who have come up with a project to turn the historic Piazza dei Miracoli into an interactive theme park.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

However, continues the newspaper, the Regione is also considering an offer from the United Arab Emirates. Sheik Yabooti intends to dismantle the tower and reconstruct it amongst some of the world\u2019s most impressive skyscrapers in the city of Dubai.<\/p>\n

It would be replaced by an exact copy made of synthetic resin cast in moulds taken directly from the original tower. \u201cThis is good news because it would enable tourists to keep making us laugh by standing in silly postures while pretending to hold the tower up\u201d said one local resident.<\/p>\n

Secondo uno studio italiano dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 dell\u2019Insapienza, il 98% dei turisti visita la Piazza dei Miracoli solo per fare foto e al monumento vecchio di 800 anni non rivolge pi\u00f9 di una rapida occhiata. \u201cE\u2019 improbabile che la maggior parte delle persone sapr\u00e0 mai che \u00e8 falsa\u201d afferma il Prof. Coglione, direttore del Centro Studi per il Turismo della Regione Toscana, \u201ce per quanto riguarda le foto che pubblicano sui siti dei social media \u2026 beh, chi pu\u00f2 dirlo?\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

According to an Italian study by the University of Insapienza, 98% of tourists only visit la Piazza dei Miracoli to take photos and never give the 800 year old monument more than a cursory glance. \u201cIt\u2019s unlikely that most people will even know it\u2019s fake\u201d says Prof. Coglione, head of tourism studies for the Regione Toscana, \u201cand as for the photos which they post on their social media sites … well, who\u2019s to know?\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Other monuments under consideration for future sales include: la Cupola del Duomo di Firenze<\/b>, le Mura di Lucca<\/b>, and Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s original outside lavatory which had been under restoration from 1965 until 1998, but was never finished due to complaints about the noise from angry neighbours.<\/p>\n
