A couple have been invited to una festa in maschera<\/strong> (a fancy dressing party) and they’ve decided to mascherarsi<\/strong> (dress up) as Bonnie and Clyde. They go down town to root around the mercatino delle pulci<\/strong> (flea market) were vintage clothing is sold:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cMi servono un paio di pantaloni a vita alta, taglia 48, una giacca stile anni Trenta, e una camicia coi gemelli. Speriamo di riuscire a trovare qualcosa che mi vada bene\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “I need a pair of high-waisted trousers, size 48 (US 34), a 1930’s style jacket, and a shirt with cuff-links. Let’s hope we’ll manage to find something that fits me”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cProva questi pantaloni\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “Try these trousers”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cCome mi vanno?\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “How do they fit me?”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cIn vita e sul sedere ti vanno bene, ma sono un po’ corti di gamba. Prova questi altri\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “They fit you well on the waist and backside, but the legs are a bit short. Try this other pair”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cNo, questi sono troppo stretti in vita. Fammi provare quelli l\u00ec \u2026 s\u00ec, questi li sento comodi. Come mi stanno?\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “No, these are too tight around the waist. Let me try those ones … yes, these feel comfortable. How do they suit me?”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cGirati un po’ \u2026 s\u00ec, ti stanno bene, mi piacciono. Adesso vediamo se anche la giacca ti va bene\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “Turn around … yes, they suit you, I like them. Now let’s see if the jacket fits you too”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cTira un po’ sulle spalle\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “It’s a bit tight on the shoulders”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cFammi vedere \u2026 se la tieni slacciata ti va bene sulle spalle. Dai, prendila che fa completo coi pantaloni. Guarda qui questa camicia \u2026 speriamo che ti vada\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “Let me see … if you keep it unbuttoned it fits you on the shoulders. Come on, get it because it goes with the trousers. Look at this shirt … Let’s hope it will fit you”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cUffa, come odio i colli rigidi!\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “Huff, I hate stiff collars!”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cSmettila di fare storie, il collo deve essere rigido \u2026 ecco, guardati allo specchio, ti va perfettamente\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “Stop complaining, the collar must be stiff … come on, look in the mirror, it fits you perfectly”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cTi serve un paio di scarpe di pelle coi lacci, numero 45-6. Mi sa che sar\u00e0 difficile trovare il tuo numero \u2026 queste sono il 45, provale un po’\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “You need a pair of leather shoes lace up, size 45-46 (Us 11-12, UK 10-11). I think it’ll be difficult to find your size … these are size 45, try them on”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cSono un po’ corte, l’alluce tocca. Fammi vedere quelle l\u00ec \u2026 mmm, queste invece sono un po’ larghe\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “They are bit short, the big toe touches. Let me see those ones there … hmmm, these, on the other hand, are too wide”<\/p>\n

Moglie: \u201cMettici una soletta interna, no?\u201d<\/strong>
\nWife: “You can put in an inner sole, can’t you?”<\/p>\n

Marito: \u201cD’accordo! Adesso tocca a te: cosa ne pensi di questo berretto?\u201d<\/strong>
\nHusband: “All right! Now it’s your turn: what do you think of this beret?”<\/p>\n
