We sympathise, trying to learn a foreign language when you don&#8217;t live in situ is really tough! This will be the first in a series of articles covering the three\u00a0very important <b>verbi modali <\/b>(<strong><span style=\"color: #333399\"><a style=\"color: #333399\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Modal_verb\" target=\"_blank\">modal verbs<\/a><\/span><\/strong>): <b>dovere<\/b> (to have to), <b>volere<\/b> (to want) and <b>potere<\/b> (to be able).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Let&#8217;s begin with the irregular verb <b>dovere<\/b>. We&#8217;ll examine its basic conjugations and its usage in everyday speech:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: large\">Indicativo Presente<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: large\"> (present indicative):<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\"><strong>io devo, tu devi, lui\/lei deve, noi dobbiamo, voi dovete, loro devono<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Examples:<br \/>\n<strong>oggi <span style=\"color: #800080\">devo<\/span> fare la spesa<\/strong> = today I must\/have to do the shopping<br \/>\n<strong>Lucia <span style=\"color: #800080\">deve<\/span> studiare per l&#8217;esame<\/strong> = Lucia must\/has to study for her test<br \/>\n<strong>purtroppo Mario e Lucia <span style=\"color: #800080\">devono<\/span> andare via presto<\/strong> = unfortunately Mario and Lucia must\/have to leave early<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;color: #3366ff\">Indicativo Imperfetto<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: large;color: #3366ff\"> (imperfect indicative):<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:
