You&#8217;ll hear it in the following two expressions:<br \/>\n<em>a.<\/em> <b>c&#8217;\u00e8 bisogno di<\/b> <em>(literally: there&#8217;s need for)<\/em>. <strong>N.B.<\/strong> The expression <b>c&#8217;\u00e8 bisogno di<\/b> is impersonal and never changes.<br \/>\n<em>Examples:<\/em><br \/>\n<b>per costruire un muro c&#8217;\u00e8 bisogno di mattoni <\/b>= to build a wall you need bricks<br \/>\n<b>per superare gli esami <\/b><b>c&#8217;\u00e8 bisogno di<\/b><b> studiare e restare calmi <\/b>= to pass exams one must study and remain calm<br \/>\n<b>se volete prendere il treno delle otto <\/b><b>c&#8217;\u00e8 bisogno<\/b><b> <\/b><b>che vi alziate presto<\/b> = if you want to catch the eight o&#8217;clock train you need to get up early<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>b.<\/em><b> avere bisogno di<\/b> <em>(literally: to have need for)<\/em><br \/>\nIn the expression <b>avere bisogno di<\/b>, the verb <b>avere<\/b> changes according to the person who has the need.<br \/>\n<em>Examples:<\/em><br \/>\n<b>abbiamo bisogno di mattoni per costruire il muro <\/b>= we need bricks to build the wall<br \/>\n<b>ho bisogno di pagare la bolletta del telefono <\/b>= I need to pay the telephone bill<br \/>\n<b>se volete prendere il treno delle otto <\/b><b>avete bisogno<\/b><b> <\/b><b>di<\/b><b> alz<\/b><b>arvi<\/b><b> presto<\/b> = if you want to catch the eight o&#8217;clock train you need to get up early<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>bisogna <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\">= must, have to<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>bisogna<\/b> is the third person singular of the redundant verb <b>bisognare<\/b>.
