It’s just that the problem is: the things I like are all becoming very important.

I started fencing at the age of 5, I was in this gym, I remember this moment very well, I arrived and saw like all these white Zorros … the sound, I really remember the sound of the blades hitting each others, the clanking, the bipbips … when they put my little mask into my hands, which reached down here … and … the foil which was taller than me, it was wonderful, and that’s it, this love for fencing has never ended.

I went on until the age of 11, I was amongst the first 5 in the ranking, then in 2008 I had this illness called meningococcus, which is actually a bacterium, that makes the veins of the body explode, so the blood comes out, and creates like bruises. And so we went to the hospital and everything else, the illness, the amputations: I was in hospital for 104 days, everything seemed fine, in reality it came back, like, because this infection hadn’t gone away completely, and so later they had to amputate my legs too. Consider that the chaplain who took care of me in hospital, when I was ill again, he didn’t know what to do anymore, he said … came to me and said: “Last night I got upset with The Boss!” So, I put the priest into a crisis!

In the video excerpt below, from 02:25 to 02:53, Bebe shows us her ‘everyday arms’ and explains how they work.

Io faccio: “Scherma in carrozzina?
