Photo by Geoff.<br \/><\/em><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;color: #3366ff\"><strong>Fai Da Te<\/strong> (D.I.Y.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I have a long list of such jobs:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><b>carteggiare e verniciare la carpenteria <\/b><b>e<\/b><b>sterna<\/b> (sand and paint the external woodwork)<\/li>\n<li><b>far portare la legna e <\/b><b>ac<\/b><b>catastar<\/b><b>la<\/b><b> per l\u2019inverno<\/b> (have the wood brought and stack it up for the winter)<\/li>\n<li><b>ricostruire <\/b><b>i<\/b><b> pezzi di muri crollati<\/b> (rebuild the parts of walls that have fallen)<\/li>\n<li><b>potare i cespugli e gli alberi<\/b> (prune the bushes and trees)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Well, that\u2019s enough to be getting on with for now!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The priority has to be the external woodwork, much of which catches the full force of the sun, enemy of paintwork.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;color: #3366ff\"><b>Allora, cosa mi serve per questo lavoro?<\/b> (Now, what do I need for this job?)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>Ecco la mia lista: <\/b>(Here\u2019s my list:)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>vernice<\/b> (paint)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>pe<\/b><b>n<\/b><b>nelli<\/b> (brushes)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>acquaragia<\/b> (white spirit\/turpentine)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>carta vetra<\/b><b>ta<\/b> (sand\/glasspaper)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>banco di lavoro<\/b> (workbench)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>stucco<\/b> (stucco\/wood filler)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;color: #3366ff\"><b>Su, incominciamo!<\/b> (Right, let\u2019s get started!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>V<\/b><b>ado dal ferramenta per <\/b><b>far fare il colore giusto, <\/b><b>abbiamo scelto un verde chiaro tradizionale<\/b><b> <\/b>(I go to ironmongers to have the right colour made up, we\u2019ve chosen a traditional light green)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>G<\/b><b>i\u00e0 che ci sono <\/b><b>compr<\/b><b>o due metri di <\/b><b>carta vetrata<\/b> (whilst I\u2019m there I buy two metres of sandpaper)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>I<\/b><b> pennelli ce li ho gi\u00e0 a casa<\/b> (I\u2019ve already got the brushes at home)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><b>T<\/b><b>olgo le finestre dagli infissi e le appoggio sul banco di lavoro<\/b><strong>. Cos\u00ec lavoro molto meglio! <\/strong>(I remove the windows from their frames and lay them on the workbench.
