The villa had been closed for quite a few years. We saw it on the internet and it seemed like a bargain.
\n__ villa era stata chiusa per parecchi anni. L’abbiamo vista sull’internet e sembrava __ occasione.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The place where it’s located is a bit off the beaten track and it takes about an hour to get there. We have to ask for directions in a bar.
\n__ posto dove si trova \u00e8 __ po’ sperduto e ci vuole circa __ ora per arrivarci. Dobbiamo chiedere indicazioni in __ bar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The roads in that area are in a bad state; they wind up into the hills amidst the chestnut woods. To the left there’s a river, and after around twenty minutes we cross it by an old stone bridge. The river water is limpid and we see a heron on a rock observing the fishes.
\n__ strade da quelle parti sono messe male; si snodano su per __ colline in mezzo ad __ bosco di castagni. A sinistra c’\u00e8 __ fiume, e dopo __\u00a0 ventina di minuti l’attraversiamo su __ vecchio ponte in sasso. __ acqua del fiume \u00e8 limpida e vediamo __ airone su __ roccia che osserva __\u00a0 pesci.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We turn the last curve, and on the left we find the avenue that leads towards the villa. Access to the avenue is closed by a lovely wrought iron gate with a brick pillar to either side. On one of these is a marble sign with ‘Villa Magnolia’ written on it.
\nGiriamo __ ultimo tornante e a sinistra troviamo __ viale che porta verso __ villa. __ accesso al viale \u00e8 chiuso da __ bel cancello in ferro battuto con __ pilastro in mattoni su ogni lato. Su uno di essi c’\u00e8 __ lapide di marmo con su scritto ‘Villa Magnolia’.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The gate is closed with a chain and a big padlock. It’s difficult to get the key to turn, but we manage in the end, and open the two halves of the gate.
\n__ cancello \u00e8 chiuso con __ catena e __ grosso lucchetto. E’ difficile far girare __ chiave ma alla fine ce la facciamo, ed apriamo __ battenti del cancello.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We see that the avenue is in a bad state, the garden is neglected, the trees are old and unhealthy, some have fallen and the branches broken, blocking the way for the car. We decide to leave the car and proceed on foot.
\nVediamo che __ viale \u00e8 __ po’ messo male, __ giardino \u00e8 trascurato, __ alberi sono vecchi e malandati, alcuni sono caduti o hanno __ rami spezzati, impedendo __ passaggio della macchina. Decidiamo di lasciare __ macchina e di proseguire a piedi.<\/strong><\/p>\n
