Do you enjoy a good detective story? Here’s the beginnings of a rather gruesome one!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto is a hardened detective. He’s not bothered by blood and gore. With his many years of experience he’s seen it all. What he can’t tolerate though is the particularly gruesome vocabulary of his grammatically challenged assistant Tenente Ciceri!<\/span><\/p>\n

L’ispettore Augusto \u00e8 appena giunto sulla scena del delitto dove \u00e8 stata fatta una macabra scoperta: il corpo smembrato di una donna.\u00a0L’ispettore chiede delucidazioni al tenente Ciceri, il quale ha qualche problema con i plurali irregolari.<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Allora, Tenente, cosa abbiamo qui?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Abbiamo una testa, signor Ispettore, senza i orecchi, signor Ispettore”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Le orecchie<\/em>, Ciceri, si dice le orecchie<\/em>“<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “S\u00ec Ispettore, le orecchie<\/em>. E in un altro sacco di plastica abbiamo trovato l’orecchia destra”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto, sospirando: “L’orecchio destro<\/em> … Continui.”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “In un terzo sacco di plastica abbiamo i mani e …”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Tenente Ciceri! Si dice le mani<\/em>, non i mani<\/em>!”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Signor s\u00ec, Ispettore! Le mani! Alla mana sinistra \u00e8 stato tagliato il dito anulare, mentre la mana destra ha tutti i diti”<\/p>\n

L’ispettore Augusto si mette le mani nei capelli disperato: “Allora … ricapitoliamo: la mano sinistra<\/em> \u00e8 priva del dito anulare, mentre la mano destra<\/em> ha tutte le dita<\/em>. Giusto?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Giustissimo, signor Ispettore!”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “E il resto del corpo? Avete trovato altre parti?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Ecco, s\u00ec, abbiamo trovato altri due sacchi di plastica con altri pezzi del corpo: in uno c’\u00e8 il torso e nell’altro ci sono parti delle gambe”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Parti delle gambe?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “S\u00ec, signor Ispettore! le gambe sono state amputate sopra i ginocchi e mancano le parti inferiori”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto, sconsolato: “Sopra le ginocchia<\/em>“; poi aggiunge sottovoce: “… ma cosa sto a perdere tempo con questo asino …”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Ancora non abbiamo trovato le gambe inferiori coi piedi e i bracci”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto, perdendo la pazienza: “Le braccia, le braccia!!!<\/em> Ora vada a farmi il rapporto scritto e se sbaglia un solo plurale la mando a dirigere il traffico per un mese, capito Tenente Ciceri?”<\/p>\n

Poor Tenente Ciceri, I feel we should help him out, don’t you dear reader? Here’s what we’ll do. We’ll make him a list of the body parts which have been discovered in both their singular and plural forms. He can then use that list to write up his report, and hopefully avoid a month directing the traffic.<\/span><\/p>\n
