Happily, thanks to the correct list of body parts that we sent him, our grammatically challenged Tenente Ciceri didn’t have to spend a month directing traffic! <\/span><\/p>\n

The List Of Irregular Body Parts:<\/span><\/p>\n

the ear = l’orecchio<\/strong>; the ears = le orecchie<\/strong><\/span>
\n the hand = la mano<\/strong>; the hands = le mani<\/strong><\/span>
\n the finger = il dito<\/strong>; the fingers = le dita<\/strong><\/span>
\n the leg = la gamba<\/strong>; the legs = le gambe<\/strong><\/span>
\n the knee = il ginocchio<\/strong>; the knees = le ginocchia<\/strong><\/span>
\n the foot = il piede<\/strong>; the feet = i piedi<\/strong><\/span>
\n the arm = il braccio<\/strong>; the arms = le braccia<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately though, poor Ciceri seems to find the Italian subjunctive equally mystifying, and is once again trying the patience of our long suffering Ispettore Augusto!<\/span><\/p>\n

L’Ispettore Augusto e il Tenente Ciceri sono al commissariato ad esaminare lo Strano Caso del Corpo Irregolare e a fare ipotesi.<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Allora, Tenente Ciceri, ricapitoliamo. Cosa sappiamo del Corpo Irregolare?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Sappiamo che \u00e8 una donna giovane di 25-30 anni, e abbiamo la testa senza … senza … “, di nascosto legge la lista con le parti del corpo e i loro plurali irregolari: “senza orecchie!” esclama soddisfatto dopo qualche esitazione.<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Bravo, vedo che ha imparato. Continui.”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri, continuando a leggere dalla lista che tiene nascosta dentro alla manica: “il torso, le mani, la mano sinistra senza il dito anulare, la parte superiore delle gambe.”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Perch\u00e9 l’assassino ha tagliato solo l’anulare sinistro?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Pu\u00f2 essere che la vittima abbiasse un anello prezioso.”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Avesse<\/em>! Si dice ‘avesse<\/em>‘, non ‘abbiasse<\/em>‘!”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “S\u00ec, signor Ispettore, pu\u00f2 essere che la vittima avesse un anello prezioso, che fusse un anello di fidanzamento.”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Che ‘fosse<\/em>‘ un anello di fidanzamento!”, poi fra s\u00e9 e s\u00e9: “Quest’asino non sa usare neanche i congiuntivi!”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “… che fosse un anello di fidanzamento molto costoso.”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “E’ possibile, ma perch\u00e9 le avrebbe tagliato anche le orecchie?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Possiamo immaginare che l’assassino vuolisse anche gli orecchini, anch’essi preziosi”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto, disperato per l’ignoranza del suo assistente: “Volesse<\/em>, VOLESSE<\/em>!”<\/p>\n

“Pu\u00f2 essere che la vittima indossavassi gioielli preziosi anche al collo e ai bracci … alle braccia” dice con aria trionfante il Tenente Ciceri.<\/p>\n

L’ispettore Augusto alza le braccia al cielo in segno di resa: “Indossasse<\/em>! La sua ipotesi \u00e8 plausibile, Tenente Ciceri, ma la sua grammatica fa acqua da tutte le parti. Vada a casa a studiare il congiuntivo imperfetto perch\u00e9 cos\u00ec non si pu\u00f2 continuare!”<\/p>\n
