Story by Serena, English translation by Geoff<\/em><\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Allora Tenente, sono finalmente arrivati i risultati del test del DNA?”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “Well Lieutenant, have the results of the DNA test finally arrived?”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “S\u00ec, Ispettore!”<\/strong>
\nLieutenant Ciceri: “Yes Inspector!”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Me li legga, per favore.”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “Can you read them to me please.”<\/p>\n

Tenete Ciceri: “Subito, Ispettore! Allora, ecco qui: Il DNA appartiene a 3 individui distinti, tutti femminili, di circa 25-30 anni.<\/i>“<\/strong>
\nLieutenant Ciceri: “Right away Inspector! So, here we are: The DNA belongs to three separate individuals, all female, of around 25-30 years of age.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Tre individui! Quindi siamo in presenza di un killer seriale!”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “Three individuals! So we’re in the presence of a serial killer!”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Avr\u00e0 colpito anche in altri posti, questo killer seriale?”<\/strong>
\nLieutenant Ciceri: “Perhaps this serial killer could have struck in other places?”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Sar\u00e0 bene controllare. Tenente, veda un po’ se ci sono stati casi simili altrove. Io ora vado a pranzo. Non mi disturbi a meno che non ci siano novit\u00e0 importanti.”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “It would be a good idea to check. Lieutenant, go and see if there have been similar cases elsewhere. I’m going for my lunch now. Don’t disturb me unless there are any important developments.”<\/p>\n

Dopo un buon pranzetto alla trattoria di Dinona, annaffiato da un rinfrescante vinello bianco, l’Ispettore Augusto si sta gustando il suo solito espresso seguito da un bicchierino di limoncello fatto in casa quando sente suonare il cellulare.<\/strong>
\nAfter a very nice lunch at the trattoria di Dinona, washed down by a good refreshing white wine, Inspector Augusto is enjoying his usual espresso followed by home made limoncello when he hears his cell phone ring.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto, guardando il nome sullo schermo del cellulare: “Uffa, sempre a rompere i c…..ni”, poi rispondendo alla chiamata: “Pronto?”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto, looking at the name on the screen of his cell phone: “Blast, always breaking my b..ls”, then he answers: “Hello?”<\/p>\n

All’altro capo del telefono c’\u00e8 la voce tutta eccitata del Tenente Ciceri che urla: “Pronto, pronto, Ispettore Augusto! Ci sono … c’\u00e8 … il killer seriale … altre parti ….”<\/strong>
\nAt the other end of the line is the excited voice of Lieutenant Ciceri who shouts: “Hello, hello, Inspector Augusto! There are … there’s … the serial killer … other places ….”<\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “Non capisco un c…o di quello che dice! Si calmi, Tenete Ciceri, e parli pi\u00f9 lentamente!”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “I can’t understand a f…ing thing that you’re saying! Calm down, Lieutenant Ciceri, and speak more slowly!”<\/p>\n

Tenente Ciceri: “Va bene, Ispettore!”, poi facendo un respiro profondo: “Ci hanno contattato da altri due commissariati della provincia: nei giorni scorsi sono stati ritrovati dei corpi di donna giovane tagliati a pezzi e incompleti!”<\/strong>
\nLieutenant Ciceri: “Okay, inspector!”, then, taking a deep breath: “Two other police headquarters in the county have contacted us: in the last few days the incomplete dismembered bodies of young women have been found!”<\/p>\n

L’Ispettore Augusto salta in piedi urtando il tavolo e facendo rovesciare il bicchiere col limoncello: “Porca miseria! … No, non sto dicendo a lei, Tenente Ciceri, non si preoccupi … S\u00ec, arrivo immediatamente.”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto jumps to his feet, banging the table and spilling the glass of limoncello: “Damn it! … No, I wasn’t talking to you, Lieutenant Ciceri, don’t worry … Yes, I’ll be there immediately.”<\/p>\n

Dopo pochi minuti l’Ispettore Augusto \u00e8 in ufficio ad esaminare i rapporti mandati dagli altri due commissariati.<\/strong>
\nA few minutes later Inspector Augusto is in his office examining the reports sent from the two other headquarters.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Ispettore Augusto: “C’\u00e8 qualcosa che non torna con questo killer seriale: non trattiene per s\u00e9 come trofeo sempre la stessa parte del corpo, ma per ogni vittima mancano uno o due pezzi diversi. E’ come un gioco d’incastro!”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto: “Something doesn’t make sense about this serial killer: he doesn’t keep the same body part as a personal trophy because each victim is missing one of two different pieces. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle!”<\/p>\n

Tenete Ciceri: “L’altra sera mia moglie ed io abbiamo guardato un vecchio film … Franchino, o qualcosa di simile … sa, quello dello scienziato pazzo che costruisce un gigante con tanti pezzi diversi presi da vari cadaveri. Ecco, questo killer seriale mi fa venire in mente questo film.”<\/strong>
\nLieutenant Ciceri: “The other evening, my wife and I watched an old film … Franken, or something like that … you know, that one about the crazy scientist who puts together a giant using lots of different parts taken from various bodies. Well, the serial killer reminds me of this film.”<\/p>\n

L’Ispettore Augusto esclama spazientito: “Su, via, un po’ di seriet\u00e0, Tenente Ciceri! Qui non siamo mica ad Hollywood!” Ma poi, pensieroso, comincia ad accarezzarsi il mento con la mano destra e ad emettere parole incomprensibili: “Per\u00f2 … hum … ma no … beh … ma forse … no, no! Chiss\u00e0? Eppure … e se fosse …”<\/strong>
\nInspector Augusto exclaims impatiently: “Come on, let’s be serious, lieutenant Ciceri! We’re not in Hollywood here!” But then, thoughtfully, he begins stroking his chin with his right hand and uttering incomprehensible words: “However … hum … but, no … well … but perhaps … no, no! Who knows? And yet … and if it were …”<\/p>\n
