E’ sera, piove. Gisella Rossetti sta tornando a casa e intanto pensa al suo lavoro alla clinica di bellezza ‘Whole Body Wellness’. Le ore lavorative sono tante e pesanti, ma a lei piace molto. E poi deve essere contenta che l’abbiano assunta senza la laurea. Il professore la stima molto e proprio oggi le ha detto che presto la promuover\u00e0 primario di chirurgia estetica.
\nIt’s a rainy evening. As Gisella Rossetti returns home she’s thinking about her job at the beauty clinic ‘Whole Body Wellness’. The hours are long and heavy going, but she likes it a lot. Moreover she can’t complain because they hired her without a degree. The professor holds her in high esteem, and just today he told her that he’ll soon promote her to head of cosmetic surgery.<\/em><\/p>\n

Davanti al palazzo dove abita ci sono varie macchine della polizia e molti agenti, ma Gisella non ci fa caso. Lo sanno tutti che alcuni dei condomini non sono esattamente dei cittadini modello: piccoli spacciatori, ladri, forse anche un giro di prostituzione. Con la promozione finalmente potr\u00e0 permettersi una casa in una zona pi\u00f9 decorosa di Livorno, pensa con sollievo Gisella, ma una voce la richiama dai suoi pensieri.
\nIn front of the block of flats where she lives there are several police cars and a lot of police agents, but Gisella doesn’t pay any attention to them. Everyone knows that some of the residents aren’t exactly model citizens: small time drug dealers, thieves, perhaps even a prostitution ring. With her promotion she can finally afford a house in a better area of Livorno, Gisella thinks with a sense of relief, but a voice brings her back from her thoughts.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

“Documenti, per piacere” le intima con voce ferma un agente della polizia. Gisella \u00e8 sorpresa, ma non fa resistenza. Sicuramente la lasceranno andare appena si rendono conto che lei non ha nulla a che fare con la droga o la prostituzione, pensa mentre tira fuori la carta d’identit\u00e0. Invece …
\n“Documents, please” a police agent orders her with a firm voice. Gisella is surprised, but she doesn’t resist. Surely they’ll let her go as soon as they realise that she hasn’t got anything to do with drugs or prostitution, she thinks, as she gets her identity card out. However …<\/em><\/p>\n

“Ispettore Augusto, \u00e8 lei … Gisella Rossetti, l’abbiamo trovata!” chiama forte l’agente rivolgendosi ad un uomo in borghese, col volto nascosto dall’ombrello.
\n“Inspector Augusto, it’s her … Gisella Rossetti, we’ve found her!” the police agent calls loudly to a man in plain clothes with his face hidden by his umbrella.<\/em><\/p>\n

Qualche ora dopo al Commissariato di Polizia<\/span>
\nSeveral hours later at the Police Headquarters<\/span>
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

L’Ispettore Augusto \u00e8 seduto alla sua scrivania nella ex cella 3, con le mani in posizione di preghiera davanti al viso. Sta ripensando all’interrogatorio di Gisella Rossetti, e alla sua storia. “La Rossetti \u00e8 una psicopatica? Se non avesse assistito a quel terribile incidente dello scuolabus quando era bambina, sarebbe comunque diventata una killer seriale?” si chiede.
\nInspector Augusto is seated at his desk in former cell 3, with his hands in front of his face in a position of prayer. He’s thinking over Gisella Rossetti’s interrogation and the story of her life. “Is Rossetti a psychopath? Had she not witnessed that terrible accident with the school-bus when she was a child, would she still have become a serial killer?” he asks himself.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Chirurgo … gi\u00e0, e la Rossetti stava facendo velocemente carriera, stava per diventare primario!” continua Augusto nelle sue meditazioni a mezza voce, “Come si \u00e8 espressa durante l’interrogatorio? Certo non si pu\u00f2 dire che abbia dimostrato alcun rimorso per i delitti commessi, per\u00f2 un barlume di coscienza secondo me c’era. Ma anche l’ufficiale di polizia \u00e8 un’altra carriera classica degli psicopatici. Lo sono anch’io? Sar\u00e0 meglio andare a casa a riposarsi e vedere cosa ha preparato di buono per cena Laura.”
\n“Surgeon … of course, and Rossetti was rapidly making a career for herself, she was going to become head surgeon!” Augusto continues with his meditations speaking quietly to himself, “How did she express herself during the interrogation? We certainly\u00a0can’t say that she showed any remorse for her crimes, but in my opinion there was a glimmer of conscience. However, police officer is also another classic career for psychopaths. Am I one too? I’d best go home for a rest and see what nice dish Laura has made for dinner.”
