{"id":2174,"date":"2012-08-01T12:18:26","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T12:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/italian\/?p=2174"},"modified":"2012-08-01T12:18:26","modified_gmt":"2012-08-01T12:18:26","slug":"bisogna-provarle-tuttepart-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/italian\/bisogna-provarle-tuttepart-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bisogna Provarle Tutte&ndash;Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><font color=\"#0000a0\">Here&#8217;s the second part of Mattia\u2019s blog <strong>Bisogna Provarle Tutte<\/strong> (You have to try everything!), in which he recounts his experience of working as a waiter at a large resort in Puglia.<\/font><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Il mio lavoro l\u00ec consisteva nell&#8217;assistere la clientela dalla colazione (dalle 7:30 del mattino) fino alla cena (fino alle 11:30 della sera) con le relative pause per permettere a noi camerieri di mangiare, prima di servire ai tavoli. Sembra inutile dire che servono delle gambe portentose per reggere il ritmo e la velocit\u00e0 di una sala di 550 ospiti.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">La cosa \u00e8 stata molto interessante, anche perch\u00e9 ho avuto l&#8217;opportunit\u00e0 di provare molti lavori, come il lava bicchieri, il cameriere che assiste al buffet e anche l&#8217;intermediario con persone straniere, che ovviamente non sapevano esprimersi in italiano.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Quest&#8217;ultimo \u00e8 stato il compito che pi\u00f9 mi ha riempito di gioia, e mi faceva ogni giorno alzare e pensare &quot;oggi voglio proprio vedere cosa diranno&quot;. Infatti a me piace moltissimo parlare inglese e tedesco e l\u00ec capitavo proprio a fagiolo, tra tedeschi, inglesi e russi! Praticamente ero diventato il jolly tra i camerieri, poich\u00e9 ero l&#8217;unico a poter interagire con questi clienti stranieri. La cosa mi piaceva un sacco anche perch\u00e9, soprattutto i russi, si erano innamorati di me (alcune ragazze nel vero senso della parola, hahaha).<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">L&#8217;esperienza non \u00e8 durata molto per\u00f2; perch\u00e9 poco dopo sono dovuto tornare alla mia citt\u00e0 per affrontare un esame d&#8217;inglese, il Trinity della Oxford. E quindi non sono pi\u00f9 potuto tornare l\u00ec poich\u00e9 sono stato subito dopo rimpiazzato.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nulla toglie per\u00f2 che l&#8217;anno prossimo possa tornare l\u00ec ad accogliere nuovi clienti stranieri! In conclusione vi consiglio, come all&#8217;inizio del blog, di provare qualsiasi esperienza lavorativa, perch\u00e9 anche un cuoco pu\u00f2 diventare un ma\u00eetre!<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&#160;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>My work there consisted of assisting the clients from breakfast time (from 7:30 in the morning) until dinner time (up until 11:30 in the evening), with opportune breaks to allow us waiters to eat before serving at the tables. It goes without saying that you need really incredible legs to keep up with the rhythm and speed of a dining room containing 550 guests.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>It was all very interesting, especially because I had the chance to try out a lot of different tasks, such as the glass washer, the waiter who helps at the buffet, and even acting as intermediary for foreigners, who obviously didn\u2019t know how to express themselves in Italian.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>This last aspect was the thing that gave me the most pleasure, and made me get up every day thinking \u201ctoday I really want to see what they will say\u201d. In fact, I really like speaking English and German, and I found myself in just the right place there, amongst Germans, English, and Russians! Effectively, I became the problem solver amongst the waiters, because I was the only one who could interact with these foreign clients. I also really liked this a lot because they all loved me, especially the Russians (some of the girls in the true sense of the word, hahaha).<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>This experience didn\u2019t last long however, because after a little while I had to return home to face an English exam, the Oxford Trinity. And so I couldn\u2019t go back again because I was immediately replaced.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><em>That doesn\u2019t mean, however, that I can\u2019t go there again next year to welcome new foreign clients!
