Regular readers of our blog will probably have realised that I have una predilezione per le cantanti Italiane<\/strong> (a predilection for Italian female singers). Here\u2019s a great singer that I discovered recently: Annalisa Scarrone, better known simply as Annalisa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Annalisa, who was born in Savona, Liguria, in 1985, became well known last year following her participation in Amici di Maria De Filippi<\/span><\/a>. From the age of 6 she sung in choirs and a few years later began studying classical guitar. At the age of 13 she began studying musical and vocal technique, pianoforte, and flute. And as if that wasn\u2019t enough, whilst studying music she also graduated from the University of Torino with a degree in physics!<\/p>\n

I love Annalisa\u2019s very straightforward way of delivering catchy and often haunting melodies. Her voice has a wonderful tone, very pure and simple, but powerful at the same time. Well, instead of me blathering on about her, have a listen and see what you think for yourselves. Here\u2019s one of my favourite tracks from her first album, Nali:<\/p>\n
