Italian popular music, be it opera or contemporary pop, is well known for its obsession with grandi emozioni<\/strong>, passioni<\/strong>, tragedie<\/strong> e l\u2019amore<\/strong>! And that\u2019s probably one of the reasons that I love Canzone Piccola<\/strong>. Singer songwriter Jovanotti<\/span><\/strong><\/a> goes completely against fashion by singing about simple little everyday things in a musical poem that, in the closing words of the song, \u201cnon ha niente da dimostrare\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 (has nothing to prove).<\/p>\n

Canzone Piccola<\/strong> can be found on Jovanotti\u2019s ninth album Lorenzo 1997 \u2013 L’albero<\/span><\/strong><\/a> which the artist himself described as \u201clo specchio sonoro della mia vita\u201d<\/strong> (a musical reflection of my life). I\u2019ve always admired writers who are able to say so much with so few words, and perhaps the irony of this \u2018Little Song\u2019 is that it says more to me with its simple everyday imagery than many of the other so called \u2018great\u2019 songs in which, as we say in Italian, \u2018l\u2019amore fa rima con cuore\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
