Luned\u00ec sera sono andata con Geoff a giocare ad <\/font><\/strong>Airsoft<\/strong><\/font><\/a>. Era la prima volta in vita mia! Airsoft, o meglio, come dicono qui in Italia, Softair, \u00e8 l\u2019ultima passione di Geoff, e ha cominciato a contagiare anche me. Ho iniziato sparando al bersaglio sull\u2019orto tanto per provare: ebbene s\u00ec, sono una discreta tiratrice. Cos\u00ec, dopo un po\u2019 di insistenze da parte di Geoff, ho ceduto: \u201cCi vengo a patto che siate un gruppo piccolo di persone che conosco\u201d. Detto, fatto: luned\u00ec scorso, alle 19.30, quando faceva gi\u00e0 buio, ci siamo ritrovati in sei al deposito di materiali per l\u2019edilizia della ditta <\/font><\/strong>Lumachelli<\/strong><\/font><\/a> qui di Pontremoli. Uno dei proprietari della ditta \u00e8 appunto Michele Lumachelli, cofondatore con Geoff ed Olmo di ATA Pontremoli (Alpha Tactical Airsoft Pontremoli).<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday evening I went to play Airsoft with Geoff. It was the first time in my life! Airsoft, or rather, as they call it in Italy, Softair, is Geoff\u2019s latest passion, and it\u2019s also begun to infect me. I started off firing at targets in the garden, just to have a go: and well yes, I\u2019m not a bad shot. Therefore, after a bit of nagging from Geoff, I gave in: \u201cI\u2019ll come as long as it\u2019s a small group of people that I know\u201d. Said and done: last Monday at 7:30 p.m., when it was already dark, six of us met up at the Lumachelli builder\u2019s yard here in Pontremoli. One of the owners of the business is in fact Michele Lumachelli, co-founder, along with Geoff and Olmo of ATA Pontremoli (Alpha Tactical Airsoft Pontremoli).<\/p>\n

Dopo alcuni minuti di tiri di riscaldamento contro sacchi di cemento e bottiglie di plastica abbiamo cominciato a giocare ad attacco e difesa: due dentro al capannone a difendere un \u2018computer\u2019 (in realt\u00e0 era una bomboletta di vernice spray che si trovava l\u00ec per caso), e noi altri quattro fuori nello spiazzale fra le pile di mattoni, tegole, ferri, e cos\u00ec via, ad attaccare per rubare il \u2018computer\u2019. Io ero parecchio nervosa e non volevo staccarmi da Geoff (\u00e8 da quando avevo 10 anni che non gioco pi\u00f9 alla guerra con i miei fratelli!), e Geoff si sentiva molto protettivo. Dopo una decina di minuti sono stata colpita dal mio primo pallino: \u201cPresa!\u201d ho gridato.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a few minutes of firing warming up shots at bags of cement and plastic bottles we began to play attack and defence: two inside the warehouse defending the \u2018computer\u2019 (in reality a spray paint can that happened to be lying there), and the other four of us outside in the yard amongst the stacks of tiles, bricks, iron rods and so on, in order to attack and steal the \u2018computer\u2019. I was rather nervous and wanted to stay next to Geoff (I haven\u2019t played war since I used to play with my brothers when I was ten! ), and Geoff felt very protective. After about ten minutes I was hit by my first bullet: \u201cHit!\u201d I shouted<\/p>\n

Posso dire con orgoglio che non sono stata la prima ad essere colpita, e nelle tre partite successive non sono pi\u00f9 stata colpita, e non perch\u00e9 non mi sparassero, mi sparavano, eccome! Nell\u2019ultima partita ho avuto l\u2019onore di sparare il colpo della vittoria! Ero tutta sola a difendere il fianco sinistro, mentre all\u2019attacco era rimasto solo Michele: uno contro uno. Aggirando un muro ci siamo ritrovati faccia a faccia e abbiamo sparato contemporaneamente, ma dal fucile di Michele non sono usciti pallini: \u201cPorca miseria, ho il caricatore scarico!\u201d ha imprecato Michele. \u201cVittoria!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can say with pride that I wasn\u2019t the first to be hit, and in the three following games I didn\u2019t get hit again, and not because they weren\u2019t shooting at me, they were shooting at me like mad! In the last match I had the honour of firing the victory shot! I was all alone defending the left flank, whilst there was only Michele left attacking: one on one. Moving around a wall we found each other face to face and both fired at the same time, but no bullets came out of Michele\u2019s rifle: \u201cDamn it, I\u2019ve got an empty magazine!\u201d cursed Michele. \u201cVictory!\u201d<\/p>\n

Finito di giocare \u00e8 cominciato il rituale scambio di fucili, mirini, caricatori e accessori vari: \u201cIl tuo caricatore di che marca \u00e8? Posso vedere come va sul mio M4?\u201d, \u201cFunziona bene quel silenziatore? Posso provarlo?\u201d e cos\u00ec via. Geoff ha suggerito che io provassi il mirino di Michele, cos\u00ec Michele mi ha passato il suo fucile e poi ci siamo guardati intorno per cercare un bersaglio: \u00e8 un classico deposito di materiali per l\u2019edilizia, coi muri del capannone decorati con poster di donne nude. \u201cPosso sparare ad uno di quei poster\u201d ho suggerito io. \u201cNo, troppo grandi\u201d ha risposto Michele, \u201cspara a quell\u2019immagine lass\u00f9\u201d. \u201cMa \u00e8 una Madonna!\u201d ho esclamato io. \u201cS\u00ec, ma c\u2019ha il vetro per cui fa un bel TAC quando la colpisci\u201d. Siamo in Italia, santi e puttane tutti mischiati!<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the game was finished the ritual exchange of rifles, gun sights, magazines and various accessories began: \u201cWhat make is your magazine? Can I see how it fits on my M4?\u201d, \u201cDoes that silencer work well? Can I try it?\u201d and so on. Geoff suggested that I try Michele\u2019s gun sight, so Michele passed me his rifle and then we looked around for a target: it\u2019s the classic builder\u2019s yard, with the walls of the warehouse decorated with posters of naked women. \u201cI can shoot at one of those posters\u201d I suggested. \u201cNo they\u2019re too big\u201d replied Michele, \u201cshoot at that image up there\u201d. \u201cBut it\u2019s a Madonna!\u201d I exclaimed.  \u201cYes, but it\u2019s got a glass cover so it makes a lovely TAC sound when you hit it\u201d.
