dietro<\/font> la poltrona<\/strong> = behind<\/font> the armchair<\/p>\n

Words that describe position are indispensible in everyday conversation, and if you want to make yourself understood it\u2019s important that you take control of them. Let\u2019s look at a few more:<\/p>\n

a sinistra<\/font> della<\/font> casa<\/strong> = to the left<\/font> of<\/font> the house<\/p>\n

a destra<\/font> dell<\/font>\u2019albero<\/strong> = to the right<\/font> of the tree<\/p>\n

sulla<\/font> mensola<\/strong> = on<\/font> the shelf<\/p>\n

vicino<\/font> all<\/font>\u2019ufficio<\/strong> = close to<\/font> the office<\/p>\n

accanto<\/font> al <\/font>negozio<\/strong> = next to<\/font> the shop<\/p>\n

lontano<\/font> da<\/font> casa nostra<\/strong> = far away from<\/font> our house<\/p>\n

fuori<\/font> in giardino<\/strong> = out<\/font> in the garden (fuori come un balcone<\/strong> = \u2018out like a balcony\u2019 is a colloquial expression meaning \u2018to be completely crazy\u2019)<\/p>\n

altrove<\/font><\/strong> = elsewhere<\/font>\/somewhere else<\/font><\/p>\n

deve essere altrove<\/font><\/strong> = it must be somewhere else<\/font><\/p>\n
