I’d been told lots of times that in May the Meadows of Logarghena are covered in daffodils, but I thought it was just the usual exaggeration. The Meadows of Logarghena, at around 1000 meters (3,280 ft.), are the pastures where the farmers once used to go to make the hay and take their cows to graze during the summer (as Renata, an old woman from our village, told me). It’s only 3 kilometres from our house as the crow flies, but the very windy road that takes you there is a lot longer.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" style="border-right-width: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;border-top-width: 0px;border-bottom-width: 0px;border-left-width: 0px;padding-top: 0px" title="DSCN1263" border="0" alt="DSCN1263" width="545" height="414" / src="https://blogs.transparent.com/italian/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2014/05/DSCN1263_thumb.jpg">

After about an hour we began to see the first daffodils: first an isolated one …
