I love hearing stories from Serena\u2019s childhood, they\u2019re always amusing and she recounts them so beautifully. \u201cShare them with our readers\u201d, I try to persuade her. But she\u2019s shy. Well, I really nagged her about this one, \u201ccome on, write it in Italian, it really brings it to life\u201d. So here it is, with a few words and phrases highlighted in purple and explanations at the end. Now, over to Serena:<\/font><\/p>\n

Avete presente<\/font> la vera, autentica, mitica Cinquecento creata dalla FIAT nel 1957? Non quell\u2019enorme mostro moderno, ma quella piccolissima scatoletta rotonda per sardine, con due ruotine da motoretta<\/font>, che quando la metti in m<\/font>oto<\/font> tossisce e vibra tutta. Qui a Pontremoli ce ne sono parecchie<\/font>, ancora ben conservate, e ogni volta che ne vedo una mi viene un po\u2019 di nostalgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Quando ero bambina andavo all\u2019asilo<\/font> con Riccardo, il mio vicino di casa e compagno di classe. Sua mamma Tina aveva una Cinquecento grigia coi sedili rossi, e tutte le mattine<\/font> Tina caricava in macchina i suoi tre figli, Riccardo, Marta e Alessandro (da 0 a 5 anni<\/font>), poi passava a prendere me, e poi ancora un\u2019altra bambina: cinque bambini in tutto, ognuno col proprio cestino della merenda<\/font>! Cinque bambini che si rotolavano l\u2019uno sull\u2019altro, si picchiavano, cantavano, piangevano, e chi pi\u00f9 ne ha pi\u00f9 ne metta<\/font>. Ovviamente senza i seggiolini <\/font>speciali per bambini e senza cinture di sicurezza, perch\u00e9 a quei tempi non esistevano ancora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Per tenerci buoni Tina aveva escogitato un sistema meraviglioso<\/font>: davanti al sedile del passeggero c\u2019era un volante giocattolo. Ve lo ricordate? Quello con la ventosa per attaccarlo al cruscotto<\/font>, la bacchetta per le frecce <\/font>ai lati del volante, e con al centro il bottone rosso per il clacson. Ebbene, il bambino o la bambina sul sedile posteriore che stava pi\u00f9 buono\/a per tutto il viaggio di andata, al ritorno aveva l\u2019importante compito <\/font>di sedere nel sedile davanti ed \u201caiutare\u201d Tina a guidare! Lei ci diceva: \u201cMetti la freccia che dobbiamo girare\u201d, \u201cadesso giriamo\u201d, \u201csuona il clacson\u201d, e noi eseguivamo<\/font>. Quanta concentrazione ci voleva!<\/p>\n
