It\u2019s hard to find a more appropriate theme for winter than Inverno<\/strong> from Vivaldi\u2019s Le Quattro Stagioni<\/strong>. Vivaldi took inspiration for his Four Seasons from four Sonnets, apparently written by himself. Each of the four sonnets is expressed in by a corresponding movement of the concerto: La Primavera<\/strong>, L\u2019Estate<\/strong>, L\u2019Autunno<\/strong>, and L\u2019inverno<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/font><\/em>We tread the icy path slowly and cautiously, for fear of tripping and falling.
Then turn abruptly, slip, crash on the ground and, rising, hasten on across the ice lest it cracks up.
We feel the chill north winds coarse through the home despite the locked and bolted doors\u2026
this is winter, which nonetheless brings its own delights.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n

Many musicians and composers have been influenced by Le Quattro Stagioni<\/strong>. Here are a few examples that are definitely worth listening to:<\/p>\n

2. Vivaldi for electric guitar by the Spanish neo-classical band Dark Moor: Winter played by Dark Moor<\/font><\/strong><\/a><\/font><\/p>\n

3.
