Having written part one of the story of Modigliani\u2019s lost sculptures<\/a><\/span><\/strong> I had intended to simply recount the unexpected outcome of the affair, and the consequent storm it created in the art world \u2026 until I discovered someone who could do it in a far more entertaining way: The ingenious Italian rapper Caparezza<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For days they dredge the bed of the Fosso Reale,
\nto present the Italians with
\na trophy
\nJuly\u00a0\u2013 August I believe,
\nall eyes watching the shovels
\nthey\u2019re looking for sculptures by Amedeo Modigliani
\nentire days pass by,
\nzero bas-reliefs,
\nthen you see something come up,
\nAlleluja!
\nThree heads incised into stone,
\nphotos snapped from the tripod,
\nthe tribe, celebrates!
\nThe experts say that yes, those there are by, by Mod\u00ec
\n\u201dExhibit them here, in the museum of Amedeo, this very day!
\nTell the TG (TeleGiornale)\u201d!
\nDroves of visitors, learned personalities, groups of specialists begin talking balderdash!
\nBecause you see, those heads in the caskets are three pieces of rubbish made by students with a Black & Decker!<\/p>\n

\nThese people stare at the heads and they\u2019ve got Stendahl<\/a><\/span><\/strong>! (Stendahl Syndrome, see link)<\/em>
\nBut what a bunch of sybils (the ancient Greek name for prophetesses)<\/em>,
\nyou speak too soon and have no pupils,
\njust like the master\u2019s faces (Modigliani\u2019s portraits had blank eyes)<\/em>,
\nYou\u2019re mad!
\nYou stick with the opposite of the truth
\nSo it’s acceptable that your papers
\nare beaten by rocks (rock, paper, scissors?)
\nYou\u2019re like the racket\u00a0made by\u00a0the rowdy crowd
\nwho treat the Mona Lisa in Paris like Lady Gaga.
\n“Mona Lisa!!! Damn she didn\u2019t turn her head!
\n<\/strong><\/u>Mmm \u2026 have you seen what smooth polished skin!\u201d
\nit\u2019s a banal problem, faith-myth,
\nuntil death us do part like wedding ring-finger.

\nwhilst Modigliani is turning in his grave.

\nmore than Spiderman stopping monsters, legs in the air,
