For example the Uwajima Ushioni Festival (<strong>\u3046\u308f\u3058\u307e\u725b\u9b3c\u796d\u308a<\/strong>) or Ox Demon Festival in Uwajima City (<strong>\u5b87\u548c\u5cf6\u5e02<\/strong>) of Ehime Prefecture (<strong>\u611b\u5a9b\u770c<\/strong>) is known for its large ox demon effigies. There are two large teams that maneuver the two ox demons. This Festival is also known for its Ushizumo (<strong>\u725b\u30b9\u3082<\/strong><strong>\u76f8\u64b2<\/strong>) or \u2018bull sumo\u2019. Ushizumo is a competition where two bulls fight until one bull pushes the other bull out of the ring.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u5b87\u548c\u5cf6\u548c\u970a\u5927\u796d\u3000\u89aa\u725b\u9b3c\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N__4OGm1gEI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Kuromatsu Festival (<strong>\u9ed2\u677e\u796d\u308a<\/strong>) is a festival where the kami (<strong>\u795e<\/strong>) or spirits are brought by a boat from a sacred island. During the boat ride, the boat drivers must be careful not to disturb the portable shrines in which the kami are held. Otherwise a disturbed spirit may become an angry spirit and bring bad luck to the local residents. When the portable shrine reaches the gates of a sacred shrine, the men start to sway back and forth as if a force is holding them back. The locals say that this is the kami\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kuromatsu matsuri\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MMV9WMQxgxA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Nachi no Hi Matsuri (<strong>\u90a3\u667a\u306e\u706b\u796d\u308a<\/strong>) or the Nachi Fire Festival, takes place at Nachi Falls (<strong>\u90a3\u667a\u6edd<\/strong>). For this Festival, priests dressed in white robes carry giant torches made out of cypress wood. These torches are carried up and down the steps of Nachi Falls, which is a sacred, as well as a famous waterfall in Japan.
