Also, the second sentence has a <strong>\u306a<\/strong> in <strong>\u3059\u304d\u306a<\/strong> but the first sentence doesn&#8217;t, it just has <strong>\u3059\u304d<\/strong>. Moreover, between the two sentences, there&#8217;s a difference in meaning. In the first sentence, we don&#8217;t know whether the person likes dogs over other animals, just that the person likes dogs. In the second sentence, the person stated that out of all the dogs, a particular dog was his favorite.<\/p>\n<p>Now take a look at this sentence:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u308f\u305f\u3057\u306f\u3044\u306c\u304c\u3060\u3044\u3059\u304d\u3067\u3059<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(<strong>\u308f\u305f\u3057<\/strong> = I. <strong>\u306f<\/strong> = topic marking particle. <strong>\u3044\u306c <\/strong>= dogs. <strong>\u304c<\/strong> = subject marking particle. <strong>\u3060\u3044\u3059\u304d\u3067\u3059<\/strong> = like a lot.\u00a0)<\/p>\n<p>In English, this sentence would mean, &#8220;I like dogs a lot&#8221;.
