If you want to ask for the time, you use the phrase: \u201c\u4eca\u4f55\u6642\u3067\u3059\u304b.\u201c (Ima nanji desu ka). It means \u201eWhat time is it now?\u201d. In order to tell the time, it is important that you are able to count in Japanese. To tell the time is quite easy. At first you say the hours, then the minutes. \u534a(\u306f\u3093 han) means half, as in half past the hour.\u00a0 So if someone asks you \u4eca\u4f55\u6642\u3067\u3059\u304b the answer would be e.g. \u4eca5\u6642\u534a\u3067\u3059 (Ima go-ji han desu) – It’s half past five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
