I thought it will be a good time to review this and expand our vocabularies a bit more than what was mentioned on the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/japanese\/days-of-the-month\/\">previous article<\/a>. I took the list written by another blogger, Ginny back in 2009 and expanded the list below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Japanese, the way we count the days of the month is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: above, here are some of the examples on how to read the dates:<\/p>\n<p>January 1st -&gt; \u3044\u3061\u304c\u3064\u3000\u3064\u3044\u305f\u3061\u3001\u4e00\u6708\u4e00\u65e5\u3000(ichigatsu tsuitachi)<\/p>\n<p>March 20th -&gt; \u3055\u3093\u304c\u3064\u3000\u306f\u3064\u304b\u3001\u4e09\u6708\u4e8c\u5341\u65e5 (sangatsu hatsuka)<\/p>\n<p>August 8th -&gt; \u306f\u3061\u304c\u3064\u3000\u3088\u3046\u304b\u3001\u516b\u6708\u516b\u65e5\u3000(hachigatsu yooka)<\/p>\n<p>September 5th -&gt; \u304f\u304c\u3064\u3000\u3044\u3064\u304b\u3001\u4e5d\u6708\u4e94\u65e5 (kugatsu itsuka)<\/p>\n<p>May 17th -&gt; \u3054\u304c\u3064\u3000\u3058\u3085\u3046\u3072\u3061\u306b\u3061\u3001\u4e94\u6708\u5341\u4e03\u65e5 (gogatsu juuhichinichi)<\/p>\n<p>April 30th -&gt; \u3057\u304c\u3064\u3000\u3055\u3093\u3058\u3085\u3046\u306b\u3061\u3001\u56db\u6708\u4e09\u5341\u65e5(shigatsu sanjuunichi)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tricky ones are the 1st through 10th, and 20th.
