Some of you might be out on vacation, others might be just staying in to relax and enjoy quality time with your friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>Starting this month, I thought I would start a basic Japanese lesson to give you a foundation of Japanese, from the simple ones to a more complex ones. These are must know basic rules in Japanese in my opinion so you can have a good foundation on learning more complex rules later on.<\/p>\n<p>In my first post in this series, I would like to cover &#8220;~desu(\u3067\u3059), and ~masu(\u307e\u3059)&#8221;. Desu &amp; Masu expressions are critical to know so you can speak clean and polite Japanese at all times which you can apply to any situation.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s get started!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>~desu. (\u3067\u3059)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>1.\u308f\u305f\u3057\u306e\u3000\u306a\u307e\u3048\u306f\u3000\u3055\u3068\u3053\u3000<strong>\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/strong>\uff08\u79c1\u306e\u3000\u540d\u524d\u306f\u3000\u3055\u3068\u3053\u3000<strong>\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/strong>\uff09<\/p>\n<p>Watashino namae wa Satoko <strong>desu<\/strong>. I am not sure which one to buy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When you use &#8220;desu &amp; masu&#8221; at the end of your sentence, it normally softens up the whole expression.
