When I was growing up in Korea, I remember my mom made me wear pink <\/span><b>\ub0b4\ubcf5 (nae-bok:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> long Johns) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">every winter time. I even think it was common that girls wore pink color \ub0b4\ubcf5 and boys wear blue color \ub0b4\ubcf5. Although I see that many Koreans don\u2019t wear \ub0b4\ubcf5 anymore. I assume that the use of \ub0b4\ubcf5 has decreased since <\/span><b>\uc2e4\ub0b4\uc628\ub3c4 (sil-nae-on-doh:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the indoor temperature) in most places is often very pleasing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2. Choose your tea for your cold symptoms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will be surprised how many kinds of tea exist in Korea. Even more surprisingly, each tea can treat different cold symptoms. Do you know why it is good for cold? Ginger is supposed to warm the body and boost immune system. If you have chills, headache and a stuffy nose, ginger is your tea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>\uc720\uc790\ucc28 (yoo-ja-cha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Yuzu tea) is good for preventing colds. If you are fatigued, I recommend you drink this tea. It contains a full dose of vitamin C and B that you may need to fight off a cold. I remember I used to drink \uc720\uc790\ucc28 only because it was also sweet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>\uc30d\ud654\ucc28 (ssang-hwa-cha)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a traditional Korean medicinal herb tea. \uc30d\ud654 means the harmony of yin and yang. This tea helps to restore energy. If you live in Korea, you will notice one of the most outstanding <\/span><b>\uc81c\ucca0\uacfc\uc77c (jea-chul-gwah-il:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> seasonal fruit) in winter is tangerine. You will see orange tangerines everywhere. You will see piles of orange tangerines at markets and even your coworkers around you would eat them as a daily snack.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">4. Steamed pear with honey is a good home remedy for cold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>\ubc30\uc219 (bae-sook:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> steamed pear with honey) is great for <\/span><b>\uae30\uad00\uc9c0\uc5fc (gi-gwan-ji-yeum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: bronchitis) and <\/span><b>\ud638\ud761\uae30 \uc9c8\ud658 (ho-heup-gi-jil-hwan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: respiratory disease). Most of all, \ubc30\uc219 is a natural <\/span><b>\uac70\ub2f4\uc81c (guh-dam-jae<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: an expectorant). You wonder how this tastes? I won\u2019t ever have a problem eating \ubc30\uc219 without having a cold. This book has been considered the bible of traditional medicine in Korea. Therefore, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">using common food items for preventing cold is a familiar approach for Koreans.
