There are some famous people with Korean descent who\u2019ve made their careers abroad. Some of these people are in film, some in sports and some in music.<\/p>\n

Chanel Iman is a fashion model that has graced the cover of fashion magazines like Vogue<\/em> and Harpers Bazaar<\/em>. Iman is only \u00bc Korean, but who\u2019s counting? Korean\/African American models aren\u2019t exactly in demand in Korea, but Iman posed for the cover of Vogue Korea<\/em>. More and more, people are warming up to the idea of having models of different skin color in Korea.<\/p>\n

Both of Sarah Chang\u2019s parents were born in Korea, but Sarah herself was born in the U.S. Chang is a violin prodigy. At the age of six, she was already able to concertos, which was when she auditioned to play at Julliard. Chang recorded her first album at age ten and she\u2019s even toured with some of the best Philharmonic Orchestras in the world.<\/p>\n

John Cho was born in Seoul, Korea, but immigrated to the U.S. Cho has played many roles in TV and film, including the movie Harold and Kumar<\/em> (2004 & 2008), Star Trek<\/em> (2009) and the TV series FlashForward<\/em>. Cho has worked hard to be successful in the American entertainment industry. Cho has also asserted that Asian actors should deny roles that feed the stereotypes about Asians in general.<\/p>\n

Ameriie was born in the U.S. and is half Korean and half African American. Ameriie is mostly known for her singing career, \u00a0and she has sold 4 million albums worldwide. However, she has also acted in the film First Daughter<\/em> (2004). Ameriie can understand and speak some Korean. She is proud of her Korean heritage and signs autographs with her name in Hangul.<\/p>\n

Hines Ward was born in Korea, and is half Korean and half African American. He is a professional football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2005, Ward signed a 25 million dollar contract with the Steelers for four years. In 2006, Ward went back to Korea and set up a foundation to help biracial children in Korea.
