We’re going to take a look at how to form words like “the Korean language” or “the Japanese language”.\u00a0 One way to do this is to add \uc5b4<\/strong> with the name of the country:<\/p>\n

Korea : \ud55c\uad6d<\/strong>.\u00a0 Korean language : \ud55c\uad6d\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Japan : \uc77c\ubcf8<\/strong>.\u00a0 Japanese language : \uc77c\ubcf8\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

China : \uc911\uad6d<\/strong>.\u00a0 Chinese language : \uc911\uad6d\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Italy : \uc774\ud0c8\ub9ac\uc544<\/strong>.\u00a0 Italian language : \uc774\ud0c8\ub9ac\uc544\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Spain : \uc2a4\ud398\uc778<\/strong>.\u00a0 Spanish language : \uc2a4\ud398\uc778\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here’s the exception: \uc601\uc5b4<\/strong>.\u00a0 \uc601\uc5b4<\/strong> is the Korean word for the English language.\u00a0 Unfortunately, adding the country America with \uc5b4<\/strong> will not work.\u00a0 If you were to say \ubbf8\uad6d\uc5b4<\/strong>, (\ubbf8\uad6d<\/strong>\u00a0= America) you’ll be understood, but nonetheless it’s not correct.\u00a0 The \uc601<\/strong> actually comes from the word England, which is \uc601\uad6d<\/strong>.\u00a0 That being said, it’s also wrong to say \uc601\uad6d\uc5b4<\/strong>.\u00a0 Whether it’s British English, American English, Australian English, etc. it doesn’t matter.\u00a0 It’s all \uc601\uc5b4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here’s another way to say “_______ language”.\u00a0 Add the country with the word \ub9d0.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Korea : \ud55c\uad6d<\/strong>.\u00a0 Korean language : \ud55c\uad6d \ub9d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Japan : \uc77c\ubcf8<\/strong>.\u00a0 Japanese language : \uc77c\ubcf8 \ub9d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

China : \uc911\uad6d<\/strong>.\u00a0 Chinese language : \uc911\uad6d \ub9d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Italy : \uc774\ud0c8\ub9ac\uc544<\/strong>.\u00a0 Italian language : \uc774\ud0c8\ub9ac\uc544 \ub9d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Spain : \uc2a4\ud398\uc778<\/strong>.\u00a0 Spanish language : \uc2a4\ud398\uc778 \ub9d0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And of course if you want to know how to say “English language” just use \uc601\uc5b4<\/strong>.\u00a0 Don’t use \ubbf8\uad6d \ub9d0 <\/strong>because it sounds uneducated to Korean ears.<\/p>\n
