What a week it&#8217;s been, right? The 2014 World Cup of Languages is bringing the drama this week as well with our two Semi-Final match-ups. If you&#8217;ve been following along, prepare to be shocked!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese vs. French:\u00a0<\/strong>It was a back-and-forth battle from beginning to end, but Japanese could not be stopped, racking up 1,781 points to French&#8217;s 769 points. The French learners put in a stellar effort, but those Japanese learners have endurance like no other. Keep on learnin&#8217;, Japanese fans, because you&#8217;re in the finals!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Italian vs. Korean:\u00a0<\/strong>In a match so dramatic I couldn&#8217;t have made it up if I tried, Korean suffered a loss as embarrassing as the Brazilian national team this week. (Sorry, fellas!) It looked like the Korean learners didn&#8217;t quite\u00a0show up this week, scoring only 2 points. Yup, that&#8217;s a two. Meanwhile, the Italian learners showed up in force, scoring an impressive 954 points. Better log in and keep learning, Italian fans, because you&#8217;re up against the formidable Japanese opponent in the finals!<\/p>\n<p><em>And to my dear Korean learners, I&#8217;m only kidding. You all put forth a monumental effort throughout the competition. I hope you&#8217;ve enjoyed learning with us! Learners, you have until 9am EST on Monday 7\/14<\/strong> to learn those last few vocabulary lists, practice your pronunciation on those tricky words, and watch the rest of the grammar videos.
