Each conversation is supported with vocabulary lessons and grammar lessons which simultaneously summarize the conversation and tie in with the grammar and vocabulary focus for the unit.

For example, in the “Going Downtown” unit, you’ll be introduced to the English question words in the grammar section. This includes a written passage about how to form and ask questions and two learning activities to reinforce the material.

As you move on in the unit(which, in “Going Downtown”, follows a son asking his mother to borrow her car so he can go out), you’ll listen to the conversation, once again stepping through activities that help you internalize the material, including a role-playing activity where you’ll practice your pronunciation while pretending to be one of the characters.

In addition to “Going Downtown”, other unit themes include:

Greetings

Family and Friends

Health and Physical Fitness

At Work

At the Hospital

Beyond question words, grammar topics include:

Simple Future Tense

Simple Past Tense

Direct Object Pronouns

Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Imperative Mood

For educators looking to leverage this course to facilitate English language classes, we will also provide an instructor handbook that details the ideal set-up for a blended-learning environment that uses optimal integration of our tech companion (activities to do first, next, last, before class, after class, etc.) as well as the break-down of hours allotted for each unit, lesson, and activity.

Ready to start speaking with us?
