Providing language learning opportunities to library patrons must really be our <em><strong>four<\/strong>te. <\/em>(Okay, that\u2019s all of our number puns\u2026 <strong><em>four<\/em><\/strong> now.)<\/p>\n<p>The Modern Library Awards are special awards because they are voted on by the librarians with whom we work on a daily basis\u2014it\u2019s like the People\u2019s Choice Awards of libraries!<\/p>\n<p>The MLAs were established to recognize the top products and services in the library industry, with products and services being reviewed by the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers who have firsthand experience using a product or service are permitted to judge it. Each judge scores the product from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, and beyond.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7508 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2019\/01\/2019-MLA-Awards-Logo-1024x716.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"411\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2019\/01\/2019-MLA-Awards-Logo-1024x716.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2019\/01\/2019-MLA-Awards-Logo-350x245.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2019\/01\/2019-MLA-Awards-Logo-768x537.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2019\/01\/2019-MLA-Awards-Logo.jpg 1215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 411px) 100vw, 411px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Awards are given on the following scores:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Platinum (9.0 &#8211; 10.0)<\/li>\n<li>Gold (8.0 &#8211; 8.99)<\/li>\n<li>Silver (6.50 &#8211; 7.99)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For the fourth year in a row, Transparent Language Online has gone platinum in the Modern Library Awards, receiving the highest honor possible!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Library Programs Manager, Lauren Gancarz, is celebrating the award but also giving credit where it\u2019s due\u2014to our library subscribers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are excited and honored to receive our forth Platinum Modern Library Award. Libraries play an important role in the communities they serve, and we wouldn\u2019t have received this award without their continued support and feedback.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That feedback enables us to develop a platform that patrons love. Our team regularly travels to conferences around the country to meet with librarians and better understand how they serve diverse, multilingual communities. We&#8217;ll be in Booth 2604.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 2018, we librarians inspired us to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expand our ESL collection to include an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2018\/04\/16\/prepare-for-the-american-citizenship-test-with-transparent-language-online\/\"><strong>American Citizenship Test Prep<\/strong><\/a> course and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2018\/04\/02\/new-esl-materials-advanced-conversations-in-english\/\">Advanced Conversations in English<\/a> course<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Bring Latin back to life with our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2018\/07\/16\/learn-latin-with-transparent-language-online\/\">Introduction to Latin<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Continue to improve our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2017\/04\/24\/make-the-most-of-every-feature-in-transparent-language-online-now-on-mobile\/\">user experience for mobile devices<\/a>, including <strong>new push notifications<\/strong> that remind learners to log in and refresh their Learned Vocabulary.<\/li>\n<li>Redesign the <strong>Reporting Dashboard<\/strong> so librarians can better monitor usage and measure ROI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This award speaks to the success of that collaborative relationship with our libraries.
