ASL, Chinese, French, Spanish, and more.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re also making sure more people in more places can access languages. After it cracked our top 10 languages in just 3 months, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2023\/05\/22\/new-beginner-asl-course-expanded\/\">they helped us double it<\/a>. 8 new units. 242 new signs. 33 more hours of American Sign Language instruction.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ASL for Librarians<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Some of the biggest supporters of our ASL course\u2014librarians! So we made them a course of their own: <a href=\"https:\/\/home.transparent.com\/american-sign-language-for-librarians\">ASL for Librarians<\/a>. 15 hours of basics to help you communicate with Deaf and hard of hearing patrons.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More Chinese<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In 2022, we launched two new beginner Chinese courses: tones and radicals. Now the trifecta is complete with the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/language-news\/2022\/04\/11\/new-courses-chinese-tones-chinese-radicals\/\">pinyin course<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re new to Mandarin and don\u2019t know where to begin, join the <a href=\"https:\/\/home.transparent.com\/chinese-30x30-challenge\">30&#215;30 Challenge<\/a> launched this year by our Chinese experts! In just 30 minutes per day for 30 days you\u2019ll tackle tones, radicals, and pinyin and be well on your way.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More indigenous languages<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We are proud to still support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.7000.org\/\">7000 Languages<\/a> in their mission to preserve and promote indigenous languages with technology. This year, 7000 and their local partners added:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kalmyk<\/strong>: As part of their 2023 Fellowship Program, 7000 Languages published a new Kalmyk course, created by fellow, Liubov Darzhinova. The 7-unit course goes beyond our basic vocab course to teach the alphabet, culture, conversations, and grammar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tanacross<\/strong>: The Doyon Foundation created a second Tanacross\u00a0course with more than 60 lessons arranged in a seasonal activity format, September through June. Created in honor of Irene Arnold.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Upper Tanana:<\/strong> The Doyon Foundation also published a second <strong>Upper Tanana<\/strong> course with a similar structure of 60 lessons arranged September through June. Created in honor of Avis Sam.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shugni<\/strong>: A new language for 2023, spoken by about 50-75k people in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China. The Badakhshan language partner created a Shugni Vocabulary Course. It&#8217;s a collection of 17 lessons that present groups of Shughni words that are still existent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can see all 30+ indigenous languages <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transparent.com\/languages\/#libraries\">here<\/a>, marked with asterisks.
