As you can see, with &#8220;nautae&#8221;, the dative singular and the nominative plural of the first declension ends in -ae.<\/p>\n<p>The dative plural of the first declension is also the same as the ablative plural of the first declension :<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0<strong>F\u0113minae cum naut\u012bs\u00a0natant<\/strong> = The women are swimming with the sailors<\/p>\n<p>2) <strong>F\u0113minae aquam naut\u012bs dant<\/strong> = The women are giving water to the sailors<\/p>\n<p>The first sentence uses naut\u012bs in the ablative plural of the first declension, but the second sentence uses naut\u012bs in the dative plural of the first declension.
