Then, I considered &#8211; why should I even choose? Thus, this month&#8217;s post will look at what I am terming &#8220;Ancient Roman Social Media&#8221; with an emphasis on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/latin\/the-top-ten-scandalous-women-of-ancient-romepart-i\/\">women<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/latin\/strong-ancient-roman-women\/\">women<\/a> are often forgotten or mistold in history, especially ancient history. So, the examination of graffiti (in our case <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/inscriptionespar42zang\/page\/n7\/mode\/2up?view=theater\">Pompeii graffiti<\/a>) can lend insight into some of the daily life emotions and roles they had in society.<\/p>\n<h3>Pompeii Graffiti Examples of &#8220;Ancient Roman Social Media&#8221;:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>IX.8.11 (triclinium of a house); <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/inscriptionespar42zang#page\/776\/mode\/2up\/search\/restitutus\">5251<\/a>:\n<ul>\n<li>Restitutus has deceived many girls.<br \/>\n<i>Restitutus multas decepit saepe puellas.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>I.10.7 (House and Office of Volusius Iuvencus; left of the door); <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelatinlibrary.com\/inscriptions.html\">8364<\/a>:\n<ul>\n<li>Secundus says hello to his Prima, wherever she is. All of these writings deal with high emotions of lust, love, concern, or bragging rights. Thus, it sounds very much life Ancient Roman social media.
