What? \u00a0Troms\u00f8 just became home to the world\u00b4s northernmost Porsche bilforretning<\/strong> (car dealership)? \u00a0Now that is pretty cool. \u00a0Who would ever think that the German bilforretning<\/strong> (to be sure, the founder was Austrian…) would come to northern Norway, one of the geographically most isolated parts of the world? \u00a0My initial reactions as far as what I think legitimate this move were:<\/p>\n

1) \u00a0Norwegians have a lot of penger<\/strong> (money) per capita<\/p>\n

and<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Northern Norway is home to lots of rednecks as we call them (this is not meant to be an insult, I\u00b4m friends with quite a few of them!)<\/p>\n

Porsche Center Troms\u00f8 (also known as Traasdahl) is Norway\u00b4s fifth authorized Porsche bilforretning<\/strong>. \u00a0There are Porsche forhandlere<\/strong> (dealers) in Oslo, Bergen, Son, and Stavanger. \u00a0The fact that there is now a Porsche forhandler<\/strong> in northern Norway means that literally the top half of the country (Nordland, Finnmark and Svalbard) has a closer forhandler<\/strong> to kj\u00f8pe<\/strong> (purchase) from. \u00a0It\u00b4s a long drive from Bergen or Oslo to Troms\u00f8! \u00a0Trust me, I\u00b4ve done it!<\/p>\n

Many of you have been to Norway and perhaps gotten a ride with a friend or relative. \u00a0The average citizen\u00b4s automobile in Norway is much much nicer than the average citizen\u00b4s vehicle in the United States, for example. \u00a0Of course there are crappy beaters in Norway just as anywhere else, but the majority of vehicles are in very good condition and cost a hell of a lot more money than vehicles in the U.S. \u00a0You may have noticed that even the taxis are super nice-usually a Mercedes or Volkswagen. \u00a0This is not true of just Norway. \u00a0I have seen this in the Netherlands as well as Sweden. \u00a0It still never ceases to surprise me though. \u00a0As an American, I am used to hopping in mediochre cards. \u00a0I digress…back to Porsches.<\/p>\n

Besides Norways\u00b4s largest northern city, Troms\u00f8, announcing the opening of it\u00b4s new Porsche forretning<\/strong> in August, Porsche has also recently announced major decreases in prices for models that are designed to minimize pollution. \u00a0I\u00b4m into irony at the moment and I would like to simply state that although Norway produces a large amount of the worlds oil and gas, Norwegians are very conscious about their impact on the environment. \u00a0Triple bonus! \u00a0Northern Norwegians with a lot of penger<\/strong>, a desire for a Porsche, and would like to lessen their carbon footprint can now purchase a Porsche in Troms\u00f8:)<\/p>\n

I\u00b4m not super into biler<\/strong> (cars), but I am into Troms\u00f8 and I think it\u00b4s pretty cool that Troms\u00f8 has recently opened a Porsche forhandler<\/strong>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"\"\"
