{"id":126,"date":"2009-07-25T22:22:34","date_gmt":"2009-07-26T02:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/?p=126"},"modified":"2009-07-25T22:22:34","modified_gmt":"2009-07-26T02:22:34","slug":"1000-henrettelse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/1000-henrettelse\/","title":{"rendered":"1000. henrettelse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1000th execution.\u00a0 In the U.S. that is since it became legal <strong>\u00e5 henrette<\/strong> (to execute) prisoners in 1977.\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 That is 1000 in 32 years.\u00a0 Seems like a lot to me.\u00a0 I still don&#8217;t know what I think is the best method for punishing serial killers and rapists.\u00a0 Who am I to know if they can be rehabilitated and one day give back to society.\u00a0 Perhaps those thousand people didn&#8217;t deserve to live after what they had done.\u00a0 I cannot venture to say.\u00a0 I do know two things though:\u00a0\u00a0the number of U.S. citizens who support\u00a0<strong>d\u00f8dsstraffen<\/strong>\u00a0(death penalty) has gone significantly down (from about\u00a080% to 60%\u00a0in the last 20 years and\u00a0the United States is &#8220;<strong>det eneste &#8220;s\u00e5kalte&#8221;
