{"id":127,"date":"2009-07-28T09:01:40","date_gmt":"2009-07-28T13:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/?p=127"},"modified":"2009-07-28T09:01:40","modified_gmt":"2009-07-28T13:01:40","slug":"transportmidler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/transportmidler\/","title":{"rendered":"Transportmidler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Modes of transportation.\u00a0 Definitely something you want to know how to talk about when you are preparing to travel to another country.\u00a0 In Norway, you&#8217;ll want to know about <strong>biler <\/strong>(cars), <strong>busser <\/strong>(busses)<strong>, tog <\/strong>(trains)<strong>, trikken <\/strong>(the trolley)<strong>, tbanen <\/strong>(the subway)<strong>, ferger <\/strong>(ferries)<strong>, og mer <\/strong>(and more).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You will want to know how to get to the nearest bus stop, what time the train leaves, when the ferry arrives, how much it costs to take a taxi, etc.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, Norway has a stellar public transportation system (which I have described in an earlier post).\u00a0 I remember the first time I was in Norway, my father and I took a train from Oslo to Bergen, then\u00a0took the <strong>Hurtigrute <\/strong>(the big cruise ship-also described in an earlier post) up to \u00c5lesund, where we were on a mission to find long lost relatives.\u00a0 We took a bus to get to our hotel,\u00a0from where\u00a0the lady working at the hotel\u00a0(which actually had a grass roof that goats would enjoy &#8220;mowing&#8221;) offered to drive us to our relatives&#8217; farm (because she knew them, and everyone else in the area).\u00a0 So, we got exactly where we wanted to go using a handful <strong>transportmidler.\u00a0 <\/strong>Needless to say, it was pretty cool.<\/p>\n<p>And now, some phrases that you will for sure want to learn (and keep in mind I have not translated them all\u00a0literally, but rather they way you would really say them):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hvor lang tid tar det \u00e5 kj\u00f8re fra Oslo til Lillehammer <\/strong>(and of course replace the place names with whichever ones you are dealing with)?\u00a0 &#8212;
