Norwegians are good at going p\u00e5 ferie <\/strong>(on vacation).\u00a0 Like most Europeans, Norwegians enjoy friluftsliv,<\/strong> outdoor life, such as \u00e5 g\u00e5 p\u00e5 tur, \u00e5 g\u00e5 p\u00e5 ski, \u00e5 ta fly til Syden, o.s.v. <\/strong>(and so on).\u00a0\u00a0For eksempel, <\/strong>many Norwegians go up to hytter <\/strong>(cabins) in the mountains til p\u00e5ske <\/strong>(for Easter) and they spend a lot of time reading P\u00e5skekrim <\/strong>(Easter crime, books about crime that Norwegians read during Easter).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Norwegian workers get 11 paid public holidays off per year and a generous number of vacation days (5 weeks for most people).\u00a0\u00a0Now, this is a touchy subject because obviously you need some sort of money to go p\u00e5 ferie.\u00a0 <\/strong>However, it seems as though Norwegians enjoy going to their hytter <\/strong>in the mountains to be with familie <\/strong>(family) and venner <\/strong>(friends) just as much as anything else.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taking all kinds of ferier <\/strong>(vacations) into consideration, let’s learn some words and phrases that will come in handy.\u00a0 First, what are some of the things you need to pack?<\/p>\n

And what are some things that you hope will not happen p\u00e5 ferie<\/strong>, but often do?<\/p>\n
