Every day.\u00a0 I’m getting into this theme of things we do daglig<\/strong> (daily).\u00a0 Of course some of the things I do in my dagligliv<\/strong> (daily life), you do not do and some of the things you do in your dagligliv<\/strong>, I do not do.\u00a0 However, many of the things we do in our dagligeliv<\/strong> (notice I didn’t add anything after ‘liv<\/strong>‘ to make it plural, because ‘liv<\/strong>‘ is a one-syllable ‘et’ noun, so it doesn’t get any suffix in the indefinite plural-Husker du<\/strong>?\u00a0 Do you remember?)<\/p>\n

a few other words you might like to know when you talk about the frequency in which things occur:<\/p>\n

vanligvis<\/strong>-usually\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0av og til-<\/strong>now and then\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 igjen og igjen<\/strong>-time and again<\/p>\n

Jeg drikker kaffe hver dag<\/span> s\u00e5 snart\u00a0jeg v\u00e5kner<\/strong>.\u00a0 I drink coffee every day\u00a0as soon as\u00a0I wake up.<\/p>\n

Hver dag<\/span> spiser jeg frokost f\u00f8r jeg g\u00e5r p\u00e5 jobb <\/strong>(notice the use of inversion).<\/strong>\u00a0 Every day I eat breakfast before I go to work.<\/p>\n

\ufffdJeg tar en dusj hver dag<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 I take a shower every day.<\/p>\n

Hver dag<\/span> sjekker jeg eposten min<\/strong>.\u00a0 Every day I check my email.<\/p>\n

And on to other frequencies…<\/p>\n

Jeg snakker med faren min ofte<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 I talk to my father often.<\/p>\n

Noen ganger<\/span> liker jeg \u00e5 spise pannekaker til frokost <\/strong>(another use of inversion).\u00a0 Sometimes I like to eat pancakes for breakfast.<\/p>\n

Jeg leser sjelden<\/span> b\u00f8ker.<\/strong>\u00a0 I read books seldomly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Av og til<\/span> vasker jeg bilen min.<\/strong>\u00a0 Now and then I wash my car.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hun pr\u00f8ver alltid<\/span> \u00e5 v\u00e6re snill.<\/strong>\u00a0 She always tries to be nice.<\/p>\n

De reiser aldri<\/span> til Europa<\/strong>.\u00a0 They never travel to Europe.<\/p>\n

Vanligvis<\/span> l\u00f8per jeg med hunden min om morgenen<\/strong>.\u00a0 Usually I run with my dog in the morning.<\/p>\n

Hunden min har mye energi hele tiden<\/span>.<\/strong>\u00a0 My dog has a lot of energy all the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Igjen og igjen<\/span> glemmer kj\u00e6resten min \u00e5 sl\u00e5 av lysene.<\/strong>\u00a0 Time and again my boyfriend forgets to turn the lights off.<\/p>\n

You get the idea, right?\u00a0 Just remember to invert the verb and subject when the adverb\/adverbial phrase comes first.\u00a0 What do you do hver dag?<\/strong><\/p>\n
