The winter season is here, and\u00a0<strong>nordmenn i alle aldersgrupper\u00a0<\/strong>(Norwegians of all ages) are enjoying the outdoor activities made possible by\u00a0<strong>sn\u00f8en<\/strong>\u00a0(the snow) and the wild Norwegian landscapes. In the most famous\u00a0<strong>skisportsteder<\/strong>\u00a0(ski sport places), like Jotunheimen or Lillehammer (remember\u00a0<strong>vinter-OL<\/strong>\u00a0in 1994? \ud83d\ude42 ), people enjoy themselves slaloming or snowboarding down the steep, broad slope of the\u00a0<strong>alpinanlegg<\/strong>\u00a0(alpine sports centre). If buying or renting a pair of\u00a0<strong>slalomski<\/strong>\u00a0[SLAHlom shea] or a\u00a0<strong>snowboard<\/strong>\u00a0seems to expensive to you, there\u2019s no reason to fret.\u00a0<strong>Langrennski<\/strong>\u00a0(cross-country skis) or the simpler\u00a0<strong>turski<\/strong>\u00a0[TOOR shea] (\u201dtrip skis\u201d) don\u2019t cost that much, and there are plenty of nice and exciting\u00a0<strong>l\u00f8yper\u00a0<\/strong>(ski runs) all over the country. It is a perfect way to be together with your\u00a0<strong>venner<\/strong>\u00a0(friends), watch the snow-clad rocks and trees and sky, and get your adrenaline high at the same time. Just ask for information at the local tourist office. If it\u2019s closed (which is usually the case in\u00a0<strong>bygder<\/strong>\u00a0or \u201dvillages\u201d during winter), ask the locals, and they\u2019ll be more than happy to share their local skiing paradise with you.<\/p>\n<p>Skiing is an important part of life for many Norwegians. In fact, there is a joke saying that\u00a0<strong>nordmenn er f\u00f8dt med ski p\u00e5 <a title=\"Not Every A is a Girl\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/not-every-a-is-a-girl\/\">beina<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(Norwegians are born with skis on their legs!) It should be no surprise that the English words\u00a0<em>ski<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>slalom<\/em>\u00a0were borrowed from Norwegian\u2026<\/p>\n<p>So, if you happen to be in a snowy part of Norway, find yourself a pair of\u00a0<strong>ski\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>staver<\/strong>\u00a0(ski sticks), and get out!
