In 1988, four of Norway\u2019s most skilled gitarister<\/strong> (guitarists) joined forces, founding the legendary folkrock group Gitarkameratene<\/strong> (The Guitar Comrades): Lillebj\u00f8rn Nilsen, Jan Eggum, Halvdan Sivertsen and \u00d8ystein Sunde<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In case you enjoy strange words and expressions, you really should check out \u00d8ystein Sunde\u2019s lyrics! Besides being one of the world\u2019s fastest guitar players, he\u2019s also known for his extremely fantasifull<\/strong> (imaginative) use of the Norwegian language! He takes ord og uttrykk<\/strong> (words and expressions) from hverdagen<\/strong> (everyday life) and turns them completely upside-down\u2026<\/p>\n

One of his albums is called \u201dOverbuljongterningpakkmesterassistent<\/strong>\u201d. That means \u201dChief Bouillon Cube Packaging Master Assistant\u201d. Or something like that! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Sunde is not afraid to make fun of samfunnet<\/strong> (society). In his popular song Fr\u00f8ken Bibelstripp<\/strong> (Miss Bible Striptease), he jokes about some Christian ungdommer<\/strong> (young people) who try very hard to be chaste:<\/p>\n

Korset rundt halsen, det dingler mellom puppa<\/p>\n

s\u00e5 alle kristne gutter blir helt p\u00e5 tuppa\u2026<\/p>\n

The cross around her neck, it\u2019s dangling between her b##bs<\/em><\/p>\n

So all those Christian boys are getting out of their mind\u2026<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let\u2019s listen to one of his most famous songs, \u201dDu m\u00e5\u2019kke komme her og komme her<\/strong>\u201d. This title has entered ordinary Norwegians\u2019 vocabulary. It means \u201dYou may not come here and come here\u201d. It\u2019s Sunde\u2019s way of saying \u201dyou\u2019re not welcome!\u201d \u2013 with an ironic twist!
