Christmas gift tips.\u00a0 Alle sammen kan bruke disse, ikke sant?<\/strong>\u00a0 Everyone can use these, right?\u00a0 I know I could use some tips this year for julegaver<\/strong>.\u00a0 I often do my julegaveshopping<\/strong> dagen f\u00f8r jul<\/strong> (the day before Christmas), but this year, I want to have it done at least a week in advance, so I’m not scrambling.\u00a0A good friend and I are taking a day off of work this week to get together for \u00e5 lage mat<\/strong> (to make food).\u00a0 We haven’t decided exactly what we are going to lage<\/strong> yet, but we\u00a0thought this would be a nice, thoughtful gave\u00a0til<\/strong>\u00a0familie og venner<\/strong> (gift for family and friends).\u00a0 Alle sammen liker \u00e5 spise god, hjemmelaget mat<\/strong> (Everyone likes to eat good, homemade food).\u00a0 I know I do!\u00a0 So let’s look at some julegavetips fra Norge.\u00a0 Her f\u00e5r du ekspertenes tips til de eksklusive, spennende, og morsomme gavene <\/strong>(Here you get experts tips for the exclusive, exciting, and fun gifts).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nicholas Blomgren Facchin of Le Canard, an upscale restaurant in Oslo, gives tips for de vininteresserte<\/strong> (those interested in wine), who says that “Vin er en sikker vinner under treet<\/strong>” (Wine is a sure winner under the tree).\u00a0 Facchin recommends Breuer Riesling Sauvage 2008 for those p\u00e5 et budsjett<\/strong> (on a budget) who are looking for a god, t\u00f8rr<\/strong> Riesling (good, dry Reisling).\u00a0 For those willing to spend litt mer<\/strong> (a little more), he recommends Turgy R\u00e9serve Selection Blanc de Blancs, a deilig t\u00f8rr champagne med flott frukt og fin struktur <\/strong>(delightful, dry champagne with a great fruity and nice structure).\u00a0 And for those who are not\u00a0p\u00e5 et budsjett<\/strong>\u00a0at all, Facchin recommends, for the vinsamler <\/strong>(wine collector), Barbaresco 2005, en av de beste vinene fra <\/strong>(one of the best wines from) Ch\u00e2teauneuf du Pape.\u00a0<\/p>\n

How about for those like myself that would like to give of mat<\/strong>?\u00a0 A chef from the same restaurant as Facchin, Le Canard, recommends franske oster, pat\u00e9, god olivenolje, og fikenmarmalade<\/strong> (French cheeses, pat\u00e9, good olive oil, and\u00a0fig marmalade).\u00a0 Jonathan Howell likes fois gras pat\u00e9 laget av ren lever av g\u00e5s eller and<\/strong> (made of clean liver of goose or duck).\u00a0 Howell thinks these pat\u00e9s passer\u00a0til en god fikenmarmalade<\/strong> (go well with a good fig marmalade).\u00a0 He suggests franske oster som passer bra til god hjemmebakt br\u00f8d<\/strong> (French cheeses that go well with good, home-baked bread).\u00a0<\/p>\n

For those looking for gaver <\/strong>related to skj\u00f8nnhet og velv\u00e6re<\/strong> (beauty and wellbeing), Vendela Kirsebom, “Fashion Bible” forfatter <\/strong>(author) recommends hudpleie<\/strong> (skincare), gr\u00f8nn te<\/strong> (green tea), h\u00e5rkur<\/strong> (head treatment), or en massasje<\/strong> (a massage).\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you are looking for a gift for someone who is interested in design, Kjetil Wold, kreativ leder og partner i designbyr\u00e5et Arti<\/strong> (creative leader and partner in the design agency) suggests a\u00a0 good pepperkvern<\/strong> (pepper mill), et gulvteppe<\/strong> (rug), or en plakat<\/strong> (a poster).<\/p>\n

What about for\u00a0den stilbeviste<\/strong> (the style conscious)?\u00a0 Randi Helen Svendsen suggests r\u00f8d leppestift eller et par sko, kanskje h\u00f8ye h\u00e6ler<\/strong> (red lipstick or a pair of shoes, maybe high heels) til en dame og en hatt til hverken en dame eller en mann <\/strong>(for a woman and a hat for either a woman or a man).<\/p>\n
