lingo p\u00e5 norsk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Year&#8217;s lingo in Norwegian.\u00a0 I did a little bit of research about the most popular new year&#8217;s resolutions throughout the world.\u00a0 Every culture, when ringing in <strong>et nytt \u00e5r<\/strong>, is full of people who want to better their lives in some way or another.\u00a0 Since ancient times, humans have associated\u00a0<strong>et nytt \u00e5r<\/strong>\u00a0with a fresh start, a natural motivator to do something to make themselves feel improved.\u00a0 If you find yourself in Norway around New Year&#8217;s, you will surely be able to follow <strong>en samtale <\/strong>(a conversation) about new year&#8217;s resolutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>-\u00e5 bli i fin form\\trene<\/strong>-to get in good shape\\train-this is usually <strong>den mest popul\u00e6re <\/strong>(the most popular).\u00a0 <strong>Folk vil spise bedre og\u00a0bli mer aktiv s\u00e5nn at de f\u00f8ler seg bedre, b\u00e5de mentalsk og fysisk<\/strong> (People want to eat better and be more active so that they feel better, both mentally and physically).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>\u00e5 slutte \u00e5 r\u00f8yke eller drikke alkohol<\/strong> (to quit smoking or drinking alcohol)-this is surely a popular resolution for people, and certainly <strong>en av de vanskeligste \u00e5 holde oppe <\/strong>(one of the most difficult to keep up) due to <strong>fysisk<\/strong> <strong>avhengighet <\/strong>(physical addiction).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>\u00e5 spare penger\\betale gjeld<\/strong>-to save money and pay debt-et nytt \u00e5r is always a good time to be thinking about ways to <strong>v\u00e6re forsiktigere med penger<\/strong> (be more careful with money).\u00a0 <strong>Kanskje man kutter ut noe helt eller skaper et budsjett<\/strong> (Maybe one cuts something out completely or creates a budget).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>\u00e5 finne en kj\u00e6reste<\/strong>-to find a boyfriend or girlfriend-this is often the time when a single person thinks the most about trying to find a mate.\u00a0 Right after the holidays and being at parties with couples can certainly be a motivator for single folks to get out there and <strong>treffe nye folk<\/strong> (meet new people).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong>\u00e5 l\u00e6re noe nytt<\/strong>-to learn something new-<strong>et nytt \u00e5r<\/strong> is can often invigorate a desire to take up a new hobby, whether it be <strong>\u00e5 sy<\/strong> (to sew), <strong>\u00e5 lage mat<\/strong> (to cook or make food), <strong>\u00e5 l\u00e6re et nytt spr\u00e5k<\/strong> (to learn\u00a0a new language), <strong>\u00e5 l\u00e6re et instrument<\/strong> (to learn\u00a0an instrument) <strong>eller melde seg inn i et sportslag<\/strong> (or join a sports team).<\/p>\n<p><strong>-\u00e5 finne en ny jobb<\/strong>-to find a new job-I would be willing to bet that the majority of people think about changing jobs around <strong>nytt\u00e5ret.\u00a0 <\/strong>Perhaps they think they should have <strong>en h\u00f8yere l\u00f8nn<\/strong> (a higher salary), <strong>liker ikke sjefen<\/strong> (don&#8217;t like the boss), or <strong>er lei av jobben<\/strong> (sick of the job).<\/p>\n<p>There are of course many, many more new year&#8217;s resolutions that people promise themselves <strong>hvert \u00e5r <\/strong>(every year), but those
