{"id":200,"date":"2010-02-15T00:29:55","date_gmt":"2010-02-15T04:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/?p=200"},"modified":"2014-08-21T20:28:18","modified_gmt":"2014-08-21T20:28:18","slug":"1952-vinter-ol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/1952-vinter-ol\/","title":{"rendered":"1952 Vinter-OL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1952 Winter Olympics.\u00a0 As you all know, Vinter-OL are in full swing!\u00a0 <strong>Jeg elsker \u00e5 se p\u00e5 OL, b\u00e5de sommer og vinter<\/strong> (I love to watch the Olypics, both summer and winter).\u00a0 I would really love if they occurred annually, but I suppose that would be <strong>mye arbeid<\/strong> (a lot of work) and <strong>veldig dyrt<\/strong> (very expensive), not to mention take a lot of the excitement and hype out of the whole event.\u00a0 Norway has hosted the <strong>Vinter-OL<\/strong> twice, once in Oslo in 1952 and once in Lillehammer in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to grant the city of Oslo the privilege of hosting the 1952\u00a0<strong>Vinter-OL<\/strong> was made public 5 years prior in Stockholm, Sweden.\u00a0 Oslo won over two other cities, Cortina d&#8217;Ampezzo, Italy and Lake Placid, New York.\u00a0 Oslo was the first capital city of a nation to host <strong>Vinter-OL<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>30\u00a0land<\/strong> (30 countries) participated in these winter games, totaling 694 participants (very male-heavy with 585 men and 109 women).\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Amerikaner<\/strong> (American) Andrea Mead Lawrence <strong>vant 2 gullmedaljer<\/strong>\u00a0(won 2 gold medals) in <strong>slal\u00e5m<\/strong> (slalom) and\u00a0 <strong>storslal\u00e5m <\/strong>(giant slalom);
