Ever since <b>nytt\u00e5r<\/b> (New Year) I\u2019ve been wanting to do a post for all the Star Wars fans out there! But I hate to say it \u2013 besides <b>lyssabel<\/b> (light sabre) and <b>M\u00e5 kraften v\u00e6re med deg!<\/b> (May the force be with you!) there isn\u2019t a lot of Star Wars vocabulary in Norwegian: <i>the Jedi<\/i> is <b>jedien<\/b>, <i>Princess Leia<\/i> is <b>prinsesse Leia<\/b>, <i>Luke Skywalker <\/i>is \u2026 Luke Skywalker.<\/p>\n<p>The <i>good<\/i> thing is: Lots of names from American (and English) popular culture <i>have<\/i> got a Norwegian makeover! (Makes the world a bit more interesting, doesn\u2019t it?) Below you can see some of the most important ones \u2013 feel free to add comments if I\u2019ve forgotten anything! \ud83d\ude42 Ever since WW2 or so Norwegian children have been growing up with Disney \u2013 as you can see by the number of Disney-related names. (Of course <em>Transparent Language<\/em> is not affiliated with Disney or any other concern!)
