I recently had a chance to revisit Bergen. Having studied there, I have to smile when the city\u2019s <b>hjemmeside<\/b> [yem-] (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bergen.kommune.no\/omkommunen\/fakta-om-bergen\">homepage<\/a>) writes: <b>Byen hadde 235 regndager i 2014 &#8211; og innbyggerne er stolte av det.<\/b> (The city had 235 days of rain in 2014 \u2013 and the inhabitants are proud of it.) \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Kari has already written a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/norwegian\/bergen-the-meadow-among-the-mountains\/\">nice post<\/a> about <b>de syv fjell<\/b> (the seven mountains) and the history of Bergen. So I thought maybe you\u2019d like to read something else about Norway\u2019s second largest city\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Most <b>turister<\/b> visit Bergen during summer, where there may be several weeks where all you can say is: <b>V\u00e6ret er nydelig!<\/b> (The weather is gorgeous!) If you stay some time, however, you\u2019ll understand why Bergen is one of world\u2019s few places which has its own <b>paraplyreparat\u00f8r<\/b> (umbrella service mechanic)\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>Bergensere<\/b> are known to be a bit more \u2026 boisterous than your typical Norwegian, and their dialect is quite catchy because of the strong <b>skarre-r<\/b>. Most Norwegian courses teach the Oslo <b>rulle-r<\/b>, which is an <b>r<\/b> made by the tip of your tongue, as in Spanish. Only in Bergen you\u2019ll find young people that put on uniforms to peacefully march in the so-called <b>buekorps<\/b> brigades. As far as I know, the Bergen <b>Hansa<\/b> beer has a more \u201dcontinental\u201d taste than other Norwegian beers. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The birthplace of world-famous composer <b>Edvard Grieg<\/b>, Bergen is a city of <b>musikk<\/b>. Every summer the big F<b>estspillene <\/b>festival attracts both classical and modern musicians. A very famous singer from Bergen is <b>Sissel Kyrkjeb\u00f8<\/b>.
