For en glede! For en folkefest!<\/b> (What a joy! What a celebration for the people!) Vinter-OL i S\u00f8r-Korea <\/b>has come to a glorious end for the country known as skisportens vugge<\/b> (the craddle of skiing). R\u00f8dt, hvitt og bl\u00e5tt<\/b> (red, white and blue \u2013 the colours of the Norwegian flag) totally dominerte seierspallen <\/b>(dominated the podium) in Pyeongchang this February. De norske vinteratletene<\/b> (the Norwegian winter athletes) just had their most successful OL<\/b> (= Olympiske Leker<\/b>, Olympic Games) ever, ever. With a total of 39 medaljer <\/b>\u2013 including 14 gull<\/b>, 14 s\u00f8lv<\/b> [ser<\/i>ll] and 11 bronse<\/b> \u2013 the Norwegians beat Tyskland<\/b> (Germany, 31 medals) and Canada<\/b> (29 medals), leaving their Nordic rivals Sverige<\/b> (Sweden, 14 medals) and Finland<\/b> (6 medals) far behind i skisporet<\/b> (in the ski run).<\/p>\n

Before we pop the champaign and throw all our norske flagg<\/b> (Norwegian flags) high up in the air, let\u2019s do a very quick recap. \ud83d\ude42 Norway won medals all across the board, but especially tok kaka <\/b>(\u201dtook the cake\u201d, did great) in the classic ski sports. 14 medals were won by langrenn <\/b>(cross ountry) skiers (including 7 gold medals). 5 medals (2 gold) were gained by skiers who fearlessly left the ground in skihopping<\/b> (ski jumping).<\/p>\n

Especially two Norwegian athletes made people all over Norway cry gledest\u00e5rer<\/b> (tears of joy):<\/p>\n
