Ages Festival in Oslo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Middelalderfestivale<\/strong>n is happening in Oslo this weekend for those of you who are interested in history or modern day representations of historical time periods and event. \u00a0I have never been to this event in Oslo, but I have been to the renaissance festival in Shakopee, MN and it is amazing. \u00a0Hundreds of people in typical <strong>drakt<\/strong> (costume) walking around talking like they just walked out of the Renaissance period. \u00a0They even carry around mugs full of what attendees are led to believe is <strong>\u00f8l<\/strong> (beer), which leads some to be seemingly passed out in the shade. \u00a0It is a total riot. \u00a0I imagine the <strong>Middelalderfestival, som st\u00f8ttes av Oslo kommune<\/strong> (that is sponsored by Oslo municipality) is similar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Middelalderfestivalen<\/strong> takes place in <strong>Gamlebyen<\/strong> (Old Town), Oslo <strong>p\u00e5 l\u00f8rdag og s\u00f8ndag<\/strong> (on Saturday and Sunday), 19. og 20. juni-that\u00b4s this weekend from 11-8 <strong>p\u00e5 l\u00f8rdag<\/strong> and 11-6 <strong>p\u00e5 s\u00f8ndag<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>P\u00e5 programmet <\/strong>(on the program) is music, shows<strong> i teaterteltet<\/strong> (in the theater tent), and <strong>historiske omvisninger<\/strong> (historical tours) all day long both days. \u00a0Also on the agenda is<strong> arkeologi for barn<\/strong> (archeaology for kids), a <strong>sverdkamparena<\/strong> (sword fight arena), <strong>v\u00e5pendemonstrasjoner<\/strong> (weapon demonstrations), <strong>bueskyting for barn<\/strong> (archery for kids), and <strong>vesper i Mariakirken<\/strong> (vespers in Maria
